Pi-Powered Growth: My Sixth Hive Power Up Day Journey

The month of February is short. I almost didn't notice that today is HIVE Power Up Day!

After powering up 12 HIVE, I retired to my bed and slept. Though it's Saturday today, I was forced to wake up to attend the breakfast and the launching ceremony of Casa Da Vida Montessori in our school.

After attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony, me and @kopiko-blanca went to some area in our barangay to check if it's really true that those businesses registered on the Map of Pi mobile app are really accepting Pi in exchange for their products.

The first store we visited was Melinda's Wet and Dry Good store. She said that I was the second person to ask about the same matter. She said that someone shared with her the Pi mobile app and assisted her to register her business on the Map of Pi.

However, what she's doing is just mining the token by clicking the lightning icon every day. She got curious if store owners are really accepting Pi in exchange for products. I told her that the token now has a market price. She looks puzzled but smiled. She's cautious, and she doesn't want to explore the mobile app, fearing that she might lose the Pi she already mined.

After that short visit, we turn to another store. This time we could not locate the store. We are directed to a large empty space surrounded by many houses.

And then we went to Jolibee to eat our lunch. After taking our meal, we continue on our search. We also could not find Rocky RTW and 5 more businesses shown in the mobile app. The only thing I confirmed is that the business owner we first met was a pioneer.

This made me think. A few days ago, I shared an image I got from Reddit showing that 548 stores in South Korea are accepting Pi. I am now thinking that perhaps those numbers are not accurate. It's possible that many of them are also clueless. Yes, perhaps many of them are pioneers. But that is different from the impression I got from the mobile app. I thought those businesses were active sellers, and they already integrated Pi into their payment system, just like the case of HBD in many places in Sucre.

So far, Pi has given me additional capital for my investment on Hive. I already shared about the story of the 222.50 USDT a week ago. Last night, I sent 300 HIVE to my main account, powered up 75 HIVE, and bought 78 BEE, 100 WAIV, 39,000 MEME, 9,479 POB, 58,000 SWAP.GIFU, 9,235 ZING, and 25,503 DEC. I used this DEC to buy a level 8 Thaddius Brood for $15.98.

Despite the fact that many see Pi as a scam, I am grateful for this newly launched token, for the network is giving me capital to grow the Hive accounts of my family. Who knows? Pi might help me achieve my Orca status in my main account sooner than I expected. Currently, I am still holding 301 Pi. I already sold more than 50% of the token I received from the airdrop. I just wish I had the emotional strength to hold the token until the network matures.

And so the capital that I used to power up HIVE today in three accounts came from Pi.

Last month, I ended up with 213.268 HP. Today, I now have 230.177. I added 16.909 for the whole month. Still very far from my target of 1,000 HP.

As for Hive Engine tokens in my wallet, last February 1, their USD value was $66.151. Today, again because of Pi, despite the continued fall of the market price of the HE tokens, their value increased to $69.562. BEE is now my number 1, followed by LEO and CENT.

Another 28 days have been added to my account. It is now 168 days old and my sixth participation in HIVE Power Up Day, but my third this 2025!
