Motivation versus discipline
Motivation versus discipline!
Ever been in a conversation with someone about something you want to start and then with the kind of passion you speak of this said thing to the person makes the person ask you "what's your motivation?" This should simply tel you that the person wants to know what your drive is, what exactly is pushing you to want to carry out such a thing with passion.
Simply put, motivation is your driving force and that small tug you get with full surge to do something. Either something you have passion for, something you saw someone doing and admired, something you saw on an ad, or even something you just thought of starting. Regardless of how determined we get after being motivated to do something, if not fully equipped with the attribute of discipline it'll only another wasted thoughts or aspirations. Discipline is what's helps you groom that motivation you had into something even you will be proud of. So instead of comparing the two, I feel it's best we say they are both threads from the same cloth. Cause they need each other to birth consistency, which births productivity/result which is the end goal of everything.
Personally I'd say I've had a lot things I've been motivated to do and things I was motivated to carry out. I always start out with a certain kind of fire and ginger and I go with full force but along the line I relapse and gradually loose interest in doing that thing and even begin to think of other better things to use my time for and before you know it I get motivated to do something else and I go through the same thing all over again. An unending circle. But I got to realise that the reason why I keep loosing interest and focus and why I always fail to see through what I always start with so much fire is because I lack discipline. And that thing I was motivated to do has even failed from the beginning simply because I lacked discipline from the onset.
Do I talk on my motivation to start dieting, which I started and trust me it was going well but I lacked discipline to keep on and also wanted to turn every day to a cheat day, I stopped on the way (cause of indiscipline) or do I talk about my writing of poems which I stopped cause I lacked discipline on time management or is it the motivation I had for early morning workouts but because of my love for sleep and struggling with waking up early for the first two weeks I couldn't discipline myself and so I lost the motivation to carry on. The list is endless but then again I have realised and I'm working on that as best as I can. In as much as discipline brings motivation to life, I'd like to believe they are both important to gaining positive results.
Thank you for a good topic once again💕

This applies to me, I started the diet with a lot of motivation. But in the middle I got very lazy due to which I did not diet anymore. Discipline can definitely change people's lives, we have to think about it. Thank you for presenting such a beautiful post.
I guess there's a lot of us who need serious discipline on dieting 😁. Thanks for taking time to read🙏🏾
