My Latest Forgetfulness Habit

While I was much younger, if there is any important dates or events that my mum doesn't want to forget, she calls me and tells me to remind her of the dates because everyone knows that I never forget to remind them of whatever things that they want to remember. It became a part of me that I know the birthdates of all my siblings, my parents, my cousins, my aunties and uncles.

It wasn't funny at all, that was me. I never forget birthdays or event dates, everything just sticks and both my parents and siblings used it to their advantages by asking me to remind them of one thing or the other. It wasn't a big deal for me as I would naturally remember.

As I continue to grow older and have responsibilities and deadlines to meet, I didn't know how I lost my natural ability to remember things anymore. Part of it just left me and sometimes it's a struggle keeping tabs on dates and event of even close relatives and friends. Some of them knows I don't do it intentionally but some feel like I just didn't want to acknowledge them but that's not the case.

I felt really bad few months ago when I missed my daughter's appointment at the eye clinic. It was really funny how I forgot because few days before the date,I remembered and already took permission from my boss just so I could take her there. Another thing about that appointment was that after we missed our previous appointment because I traveled, it took me about two weeks before I could get another appointment so I didn't believe I could forget.

I already took permission that I would be taking my daughter to the eye clinic but on that day, I think it was a Wednesday. I took my daughter to school and I went to work. It didn't cross my mind throughout the day. I did my work normal and returned home. I even stopped at the market to buy stuff for soup.

The most annoying of all was that I didn't remember until about a week later. I screamed! I questioned myself and ask how I forgot and didn't realize until after one week. I felt so bad that day and I almost beat myself up. I was so angry that it affected my whole day. I just kept wondering how I forgot. I felt terrible and I couldn't tell my husband about it. I just tried to book another appointment which also took a long time.

These things happen to me frequently these days and I'm not happy about it at all. I wonder if it's stress or something else is wrong with me. I've been trying to work on it so whenever there is something I don't want to forget, I just set a reminder for it on my phone. Thank God for technology. That has been helping me not to miss anything important anymore.

I can relate to having a shape memory to the point where others relies on one for awareness.
But with responsibilities and age, these tend to decline, sorry about forgetting about your daughter appointment.

The issues in the country are alone to deal with, why won't someone be forgetful?
Make sure, you get another application ASAP

Imagine remembering to do something and few minutes later, you forgot. You'd be like, "But I just remembered to do it some minutes ago," eii, that can be so annoying 😄

I used to forget things a lot that I disappoint people because of that when they tell me to remind the, only for me to forget. So, I learnt to always make them trust me that when they ask me to remind them of anything, I will quickly set an alarm for it or find something that will make me not to forget and sometimes, I find myself reminding them often until the said date or hours.

It's exactly like that. Once, the same thing happened to me. A friend of mine had called off his wedding and had given me that card a week before. I had forgotten to put it on hold and I couldn't remember the date of his wedding and I couldn't attend his wedding.
