Modifying Them Won't Be A Bad Idea

I am a mother and I understand this prompt perfectly just that it is a bit funny. Maybe sooner or later, being able to modify a baby will be possible with the improvement of technology and AI but for now, we can only hope and wish to have a perfect baby. I have seen mothers with special needs children, their struggles and fear, their dedication and hopelessness at times, you would know that they don't wish what they are going through on their enemies.

I have a close family relation who has a child with hydrocephalus, the girl is about fourteen years old now but can't do anything by herself not even stand. It is really heartbreaking for her mum who is struggling to make ends meet. She has to carry the girl on her back like a baby when it is very important to go out like for a doctor's appointment.

I volunteer for ATPF Ask The Pediatrician Foundation and on our last outreach on the 31st of May was a medical outreach. I met a lady who came with her baby. The child was a special needs child. He is three years old but she had to strap him at her back because he can't sit or walk. She shared her experience with me and I was really sad. She talked about the trauma it has put her through and how she is trying to heal. I couldn't do more than encourage her to keep being strong.

A lady also shared her experience having a special needs child and how she almost committed suicide. The society is not helping matters at all. People deal with them as if they are caused. They don't want to come close to them as if they would be infected. It is really heartbreaking and if you tell such a person that there is something they could do to avoid all this they won't jump on it?

If I have the opportunity to increase the IQ of my child, choose the exact talent and gift I want her to have, I would be very happy and pleased to do it yes! And very soon we will get there. I know some people will say it's doing God's work but if God gives us the opportunity to, then we take it. It's not God that caused all these special needs issues for these children most times, it is as a result of our negligence as humans. either as a hospital or our environment and how harmful we have made it. Some of the causes are from the parents but it's usually not intentional.

There won't be any thing wrong in trying to modify our babies. To me, it Would be right and also would be ethical because we are already doing it in a way. Why do we take routine drugs during pregnancy? The purpose is to prevent birth defects and to make them grow healthy in the womb.
There is also a type of test carried out during pregnancy just to find out if there could be any birth defects in the fetus and they deal with it from there.

I just think that there won't be anything wrong in trying to modify things like that just to improve the quality of life and productivity of the children. There may be other sides to it but this is my honest opinion.

Hmmmmm..... Your approach is quiet different, but it's understandable why you would say so. Especially with how the society stigmatises them. I do get it totally.

I don't know why people society always stigmatised people who gave birth to special child. I really love this post, because you're right.

Thank you, my sister!
It's just the society we find ourselves in. People will treat them like plagues.
Thank you so much for stopping by, I really appreciate you.
