Fun in April

Anything called Fun could be something unrealistic for some people these days because of the current situation of things in my country. The prices of food items has gone up at an exponential rate. Everything is so expensive and it's quite difficult for some to even feed well these days.
Apart from the fact that there is no money, there is this sadness people Cary about and the feeling of being inadequate.

Most people no longer think about fun anymore, all they want to do is eat to be alive. I am not one whose happiness is based on such things but at the same time, I feel sad sometimes when my students come to school on empty stomach. I feel sad sometimes when children stop me on the road to ask for money to buy food. I feel sad sometimes also when there are things I need to do for my kids but I have to avoid it because of how much it may affect my finances.

I can say that during the festive season in December, I didn't do anything fun. I didn't go out or do anything special. I wasn't sad in any way and I was really thankful to God for everything, my health, kids, family and career. I was grateful and I just took time to be alone.

I love to make myself happy no matter the situation and I do it well. Traveling is one of the things I love doing, I have so much fun anytime I'm on a journey no matter how long it is. Traveling gives me so much joy and I really love to travel a lot. So,I planned to travel during the April holiday, which I did.

I traveled to Benin which is about four hours from Lagos where I reside. All through the journey, I felt so happy as if I had no worries in this world. I took a lot of pictures of almost everything on the road. The journey was smooth and I prepared everything that made the journey a nice one.

When I got to Benin, it was from one event of fun to the other. I was pampered like a baby by my sister and I didn't feel like coming back home. The most amazing part of it was the moments I spent with my parents and siblings. We had a lot of fun together because it was my dad's birthday. There was a family party where we all danced, laughed and merry. It was a lovely day as we celebrated.

The next day, my sister took me out just to see some places in town and we took time to discuss a lot of things that wouldn't have been possible to talk about on phone. We shared experiences and I was really glad I made out time to visit them. I returned home after two weeks, The journey was worth it.
I can say this is the only fun experience I have had this year and I'm really glad I did.
