Hello everyone, this time I will be participating in this Splinterlands Challenge, where I will be showing you a battle in the modern ranked league, one of which, only units with melee attacks can be summoned.

First, let's talk a little bit about Thanalorian Blade, a epic rebellion earth unit that costs 6 mana and will be the protagonist of this battle.

Source

Thanalorian Blade has a melee attack power of 4, and can perform more than one attack per turn if her abilities activate. She has 4 abilities.

Thanalorian Blade starts at level 1 with the OPPORTUNITY ability, which allows her to attack the enemy unit with the lowest health, great for eliminating the weaker enemy units.

At level 2, she gains the EXECUTE ability, so if the target has 2 health or less after she attacks it, she will perform another attack against the same unit.

At level 3, she gains the LOOKOUT ability, which will cause her adjacent allies to take 1 less damage from attackers with the Sneak, Snipe, or Opportunity abilities. Additionally, reduces damage from enemy Ambush attacks by 50%.

And at level 6, Thanalorian gains the TRAMPLE ability, so if she defeats an enemy unit, she will perform another attack against the enemy unit in the next position.

WEAKNESSES

Since Thanalorian Blade is a melee unit, these abilities are good against her:

Units with the THORNS ability will damage her when she successfully attacks them, dealing 2 physical damage.

Also, units with the RETALIATE ability, will have a 50% chance to counterattack when attacked by melee units.

HOW TO OBTAIN

Currently available in the Glint Shop, in exchange for some Glints obtained in ranked battles. You can try your luck by buying the Epic Draw (100% chance to get one soulbound rebellion epic card, there are 7) or Loot Chests (any chest has a 33% of a reward card, while the higher the rarity of the chest, the higher the chance of getting an epic one).

BATTLE

There are three modifiers active this time. The first is the Taking Sides modifier, so neutral units will be prohibited from this battle. Also, due to the Blood and Sunder modifer, all units will gain the Corrosive Ward ability, so when a melee unit attacks a unit, the attacker loses -2 armor and max armor. Finally, only units with melee attack can be summoned due to the Up Close & Personal modifier.

I'm playing with my langice account. This time I decided to choose Eternal Tofu as my summoner, which is very effective against melee units, by giving my units the Thorns ability. Also, my units will gain +2 health. Additionally, I choose the right-tactic of Tofu, giving the Triage and Scavenger ability to Thanalorian Blade, so now she will heal a backline unit each turn and gain +1 max health every time a unit is defeated.

In the first position is Mycelic Infantry, which will take 50% less damage from melee units thanks to its Shield ability. Also, it will deal double damage against units that have 10 or more mana due to its Giantkiller ability. Additionally, if this unit is not at full health, it gains 50% melee power and speed.

I then put Pelacor Mercenary in the second position, another tank unit with a lot of health, and he can heal himself for a third max of his health every turn. Also, it has the Flying ability and the Retaliate ability, ideal against melee units.

Terraceous Grunt in the third position, I chose it because it costs 6 mana and has 14 health, which is excellent in this battle. It also has the Dodge ability.

Halaran Huntress, who is almost at max level, will attack from any positon thanks to her Charge ability. She also has the flying and snare abilities.

Thanalorian Blade will be in the fifth position, ready to show what she is capable of.

Finally, in the last position is the Fungus Fiend, which will take damage before my other units against possible sneak units. And, will apply Slow to the enemies, reducing their speed by 1.

In the first round, the enemy Thanalorian Blade performs two attacks against my Fungus Fiend and destroys it.

In the second round, Riklauniman defeats my Mycelic Infantry with his melee attack. After that, my Thanalorian Blade destroys the enemy Thanalorian.

In the third round, Riklauniman defeats another of my units, this time, my Pelacor Mercenary is the victim. Then, my Halaran Huntress defeats the enemy Mycelic Infantry. After that, my Thanalorian Blade executes Riklauniman.

In the sixth round, no unit is defeated. And in the last and seventh round, Thanalorian Blade thanks to her Execute ability, performs a double attack against Endless Ape, defeating it and ending the battle.

Full Battle

In this battle, both my opponent and I played the same summoner and used two of the same units. My opponent chose Tofu's left-tactic, giving three divine shields to his units. Meanwhile, I opted for Tofu's right-tactic, giving the Triage and Scavenger abilities to my Thanalorian Blade.

I decided to play with 6 units, and my opponent only summoned 4, but they were very strong.
Thanks to my frontline units, my Thanalorian Blade in the backline was able to avoid taking major damage.

My Thanalorian Blade managed to destroy 3 of the 4 enemy units. In the end, it was a versus against Endless Ape, defeating it thanks to her Execute ability. This time, only my Thanalorian Blade survived.

That's all for now guys, if you haven't played Splinterlands yet, you can join with my referral link. See you on the battlefield!
