Playing BlackJack in Stake House Den!

Hello everyone. I was trying out the new game on the Arcade Colony platform (which is on Hive) called Stake House Den, and it's actually quite good and addictive, as gambling games should be. Currently, there are only three casino games inside: Blackjack, Slots and Roulette.

My favorite of the three is definitely Blackjack, whose rules are pretty simple, you play against a computer dealer. The goal is to get a hand with a value closer to 21 than the dealer's without going over.

Card Values:

  • The value of the number cards 2 to 10 are the same.

  • Face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are worth 10.

  • Aces are worth 1 or 11, whichever benefits the hand more.

Here is a great example, in this starting hand I have an Ace and a 4, in this case the value of the Ace becomes 11, which helps me get closer to 21.

Now I press HIT, which adds one more card, I got a Queen (value 10), so since the ace knows that if it still wants to have value 10, I would explode, it changes its value to 1, saving me from the loss. It's definitely the most powerful card in this game due to its versatility.

The game begins with the player and the computer dealer, each having two cards. The player’s cards are face-up, while the dealer has one face-up card and one face-down card. Then, you have 4 options:

HIT: You receive 1 more card. You can press this button as many times as you want, well, unless you blow up with more than 21.

STAY: Keep your cards and end your turn.

DOUBLE: This one doubles your initial bet, and you receive 1 more card.

SPLIT: If you receive two cards of the same value, you can split them into two hands, placing an additional bet on the second hand. Then each hand is played separately.

Split example: Here I have two Queens, so the Split option is available.

I press Split, so now I have two hands, each one with a Queen. After that, I only have two options Hit or Stay on each hand. Splitting two 10 value cards isn't very good, but I did just to try it out.

Finally, you can have a Blackjack, if you manage to get an Ace and a 10 value card in your initial hand, which makes a total of 21, automatically winning the game. Well, unless the dealer also gets a blackjack, in which case it would be a tie.
