Hello everyone, this time I will share with you my performance in this tournament hosted by Ehmaywuntee, shoutout to him ^^. The first place won a Conclave Arcana starter pack, containing 4 common cards and 1 rare card. This was a ghost tournament, so players were able to use all the cards from the Conclave Arcana set at the intermediate level, meaning, the max units level is: common lvl 5, rare 4, epic 3, and legendary 2.

I didn't know it, but it's the year of the Hippo. I don't know what it means, but woo hoo :P

By the way, I played the tournament with only one account, which is langice (currently the only account I'm using).

I managed to win the first battle, using the 3 mana Dragon Archon, since the archons in this battle will not give any buff, I realized that the best option would be this dragon. My lineup was much better than the opponent's and I destroy them. My ranged unit, Deep Delver, who is in the last position, helped my units a lot, restoring 70% of their max health (but they lose 1 max health) thanks to her Corrupted Healing ability.

This is another battle I won, using two hippos, one with magic attack and shield and the other with melee attack and able to attack from the second position and perform an attack with its current armor. As you may notice, I'm using Archmage Yabanius and Gramel again, who are in the last positions, just like in the first battle I showed you.

They are a good combo, as the Archmage grants +1 power attack to his adjacent units, as long as he is not revealed. And since Gramel has all 3 types of attacks, when it receives power, all its attacks increase, becoming a threat.

This was a very close battle, this time I couldn't use Gramel, as it is an 11 mana unit, and only even mana units are allowed this time. So I summoned the Archmage Yabanius with Skinwalker, which is also pretty good. I mainly used units with magic attack, and used the Dragon Archon, Sheng Xiao, which allows me to grant the Poison Burst ability to two of my units. This ability is very useful, because when the unit that has it, is defeated by an enemy unit, the attacker receives poison, and its adjacent units have a 50% chance of being poisoned as well.

And four more battles I won:

But unfortunately, I lost 3 battles.

I lost this one because I didn't play the Human mage my opponent played, who has the healing ability. Instead, I used the 7 mana ranged orc that slows enemy units. The healing the human mage provided was far better than the damage my orc dealt, and that cost me the battle.

Here I made my worst mistake of the tournament, I didn't realize the Quokka had the Weapons Training ability, so I played it in the second position, instead of next to my last position neutral unit, which has no attack, like my opponent did. So, since the opponent had one more unit to attack, it was enough to destroy my units.

Well, this battle could be won by either team, as the crucial unit here is the ranged elf unit, who has taunt and when defeated applies poison to the attacking unit and has a 50% chance to do the same to its adjacent units. Only 1 unit from each team received the poison, but unfortunately my Gramel was the chosen one, so it was defeated before the enemy Gramel and, without its power, I lost.

In my opinion the three best cards of this tournament were:

1st place2nd3rd

In first place, Sheng Xiao, because as I mentioned before, it is able to put the Poison Burst and Corrosive Ward to two units, which are the best abilities an Archon can currently grant. Second, Gramel The Hunger, since it is capable of attacking three times thanks to its triple type of attacks. And thirdly, Archmage Yabanius, because he grants himself and his adjacent units +1 power attack thanks to having the Empower ability, which by the way is the only unit that has it.

In the end, I won 4 more battles, because the opponents didn't submit their lineup, but unfortunately it wasn't enough to win the tournament, I finished with 11 wins and 3 losses, placing sixth. Anyway, it was a great experience using the Conclave Arcana cards for the first time.

I will do my best in future tournaments as they are a lot of fun to participate in, but of course it is more fun when you get to first place or at least top 3 ^^
