Security in Self Awareness

I found the most freedom when I realized I didn't have to always present myself on a certain level of conduct to be seen and accepted. I would think back to some of my early experiences and wish I had done things differently, especially standing up for myself. I mean I was quite expressive as a kid, very famous for having a large mouth because my parents allowed us to be that way. My siblings and I were not some uncouth kids, we were polite, but we also spoke our minds freely.

Despite being this kid who was quick to show up and protect herself and her loved ones, I happened to have been found wanting in some situations that mattered on a deeper level. When it finally came to me that I actually didn't have to care so much about what anyone would think or feel, when it became clear that I had to live for me to have a purposeful live; I let myself be. This has been the best change or discission so far.

Majority of the truth about existence lies in seeking the self. We are everything and nothing, the essence and manifestation of life itself, yet it means little to nothing in the grand scheme of things. It is okay though, that we get to be. Allowing myself to existing confidently, to take up space, to validate my mind and keep it open, has opened me up to so much beauty and possibility about the planes of existence.

Being yourself does not mean projecting the worst of you or taking on a lackadaisical approach. It is understanding that life is a process and giving grace to yourself and to others. Like it or not, the trickiest and simplest situations always brings us face to face with ourselves.
