Early light / Luz temprana

Being a father in Caracas means my days begin before dawn. My daughters' school schedule sets our rhythm, and while I usually prepare their breakfast and snacks at home, there are mornings when time runs short. That's when I head to a nearby bakery, where bread emerges fresh from the oven in the early hours.

El horario escolar de mis hijas dicta nuestros ritmos, y aunque normalmente preparo su desayuno y merienda en casa, hay mañanas en las que el tiempo apremia. Es entonces cuando aprovecho para visitar una panadería cercana, donde el pan sale del horno muy temprano.

Around 6:45 am, a golden light begins to wash over Avenida Bolívar, transforming the morning chaos into something almost picturesque. The sun slips between the buildings from East to West as the city awakens.

Aproximadamente las 6:45 am y una luz dorada comienza a bañar la avenida Bolívar, transformando el caos matutino en algo casi pictórico. El sol se cuela entre los edificios de Este a Oeste mientras la ciudad despierta.

Those of us who live here know Caracas rises early. Those coming from satellite cities like Guarenas or Los Teques have already been on the road for hours when this light greets them on the now-busy Avenida Bolívar. People are already in motion, heading to workplaces, schools, and the day's obligations.

Los que vivimos aquí sabemos que Caracas madruga. Los que vienen de ciudades satélites como Guarenas o Los Teques llevan ya horas en ruta cuando esta luz los recibe al llegar la ya transitada Avenida Bolívar. Y la gente en pleno movimiento hacia sus puestos de trabajos o lugares de estudio.
