Caribbean: San Luis in Cumaná + farewell / Caribe: San Luis en Cumaná + despedida
Despite the intense work schedule that characterized my visit to Cumaná, there was always some time for enjoyment and contemplation.
So I decided to wake up very early one day to receive the first rays of sunrise and take in some sea air. Being in one of the cities characterized by its wide palm-fringed coastline and sandy beaches, it was something I couldn't miss.
Although I had been in the San Luis area before, it was only for a short time, so we went to a place that was recommended to us. Upon arrival, I only found a family of young people, perhaps cousins or siblings, who were fishing by the seashore and near a freshwater stream.
I enjoyed the seascape and took some photos with my smartphone to capture the ambiance of the beach in those early hours.
Despite the low overall turnout, there were small family groups and scattered groups of friends along the extensive beach.
I also got to see a small fishing boat crossing the coast in front of us.
On the way back to Caracas, just a few minutes from Cumaná, right at the entrance of Mochima National Park, we found a fabulous empanada stand with a wide variety of seafood gastronomy. I indulged myself and ate three!
It was a pleasure to taste some local food just before leaving the state of Sucre, a place that I love and still have much to explore. Undoubtedly, a captivating destination."
