An Amazing Desi Wedding in Pakistan

Hello Three Speak Community! Welcome to my blog. The wedding is one of the most sacred and precious relationships built between spouses. Last week, I experienced and witnessed a rural area wedding. I participated in the following events.

  • Mehndi, an event when the bride is decorated with designs on hands and feet
  • Dholki, and even when the drum is beaten and dance is performed by both men and women
  • Waleema, an event when a big party is arranged for guests

Description:

Even my friend insisted that I decorate his bride's room. Many things were common in rural and urban weddings, but I also witnessed some different things. When the bride reached the groom's house, a big gathering of men was held outside where drum strikes were done and dancing. Moreover, you can make gupshup all night, and people love to hear gossip. I not only witnessed these things but also witnessed their local party system on the last day of the wedding. It is called Waleema. On this day, some money is collected from the guests. Moreover, the groom is also presented with a precious gift, either in the form of money or in the form of things.

To make memories, I have also captured some snaps as well as videos. Kids were equally happy as adults at this event. They were all wearing new clothes and new shoes. The groom's tribe was very amazing. On the night of Mehndi, I witnessed dancing to make the groom and the bride happy.
In these traditions, men were not allowed to attend the women's ceremonies. They both have different camps where they spent nights. After enjoying all things, I also enjoyed Desi Dishes that are rarely found in Lahore now. I like spicy food and rice. They were both easily available and I ate them with full relish.

All thanks to my friend who invited me to this amazing event. I not only shared these happy moments with him but also celebrated this day a lot.

We also have a similar culture, and I think it's interesting. Your friend gave you the responsibility, and it seems you have done it quite well and I can say it seeing the video.
