Integrating Social Media in Education: A Necessity or Distraction?
Hello Hive Learners Community! Welcome to my blog. The World is moving towards Advancements and Innovations. Modern Homo Sapiens has crossed the borders of impossibilities. Now we have modern Social Media Technology and are rich of Modern Culture. Many aspects should be taught to our Young generation before these modernism aspects will burn the wings of our young generation permanently. I'm in favor of changing the courses taught to our students in Universities as well as in Colleges as per the requirements of modern society.
The Subject of Social Media
There are many educational gaps between the demands of the Modern Era and Social Media. I have witnessed now that people prefer to be a TikTok or a YouTuber instead of going to school in Pakistan. Without education, we can't get expertise in any field. Most of these people get fame through Social Media after a long struggle due to lack of education. Our 95% of the young generation is unaware of the pros and cons of Social Media.
It is insane to see when people prioritize social media instead of education. Social Media exposure damages their life to a level that they prefer suicide when they don't know how to come up from social media addiction. Although there are benefits of Social Media we should not ignore its toxicity launched by our young generation by its blind use. There are many updates on Suicidal attempts or Suicides when our young generation has invested their life in their Social Media Accounts, but they are banned due to not following social media rules. Hence, we have to do something to bridge the educational gaps between social media and educational institutes.
Will the subject of Social Media be taught to our young generation? Yes, it should be taught before any further delay. It will not only educate our young generation about the pros and cons of Social media but also help them to its better and more effective use. It will help them how to save their accounts from hacking or banning. Moreover, they will learn the luxurious aspects of social media platforms. Every day, there are new features about Tiktoks, YouTube, What App, Instagram, and X. Instead of getting a demo, we also need professional guidelines about them. When any update is introduced on social media, it has both positive as well as negative aspects.
Final Thoughts
Social Media Courses should be added to school and college syllabi as soon as possible. It is one of the biggest advantages will be that our Young generation will learn how to earn good revenue from Social media instead of wasting time on scrolling. Moreover, the efficiency and efficacy of our young generation will increase when we are aware of the settings, updates, and influencing power of social applications. Although social applications have helped us to squeeze communication gaps, still we need to learn about them. Thankfully I always learn everything about Social Media on Hive and other platforms. It is always fun and entertaining for me to explore new things in the social media world.

Social media is a necessary evil. Along with challanges , it brings some good outcomes as well. Education is the way through which we can try squeeze the possibility of harmful use of social media and promote the purposeful use.

Seriously, the world is moving gradually so we need that upgrade in our syllabus to cover the rapid change of the day. Many young people under utilize the socials, before it burns them off it is best to get them enlightened as you said.

The world we live in now belongs to social media and that is why most teenagers prefer to be a YouTuber or tiktoker than to be in school which I think will affect them later in the future.
I can never support that social media should be added to the course because it will only expose more children to the working they don’t know.
Everyone has his or her own opinions. We can save our kids from more harms of social media if it is added in our courses.
