The Communicational Gaps have been bridged by different social media applications. Now you can start different campaigns like collecting donations, recording Protests, and making political influence. There will be hardly a home where we can't find a mobile; otherwise, everyone has this smart gadget and is busy scrolling. Although still, people like to read a newspaper it is considered to be old fashioned by our young peeps.

The Role of Social Media in Pakistani Politics

The previous year, in February, Pakistan had officially elected 2024. This election was different in the history of Pakistan. A party whose Political Symbol was snatched has made a big impact and gained popularity not only in Pakistan but also in the whole world. I want to mention the strategies of this party that will be a big surprise for you. In Pakistan, a party that was facing restrictions in elections campaigns by the judiciary as well as taking over government won by a 2/3 majority. It was all due to social Media.

Let me explain things more clearly to you. PTI is the most popular political party in Pakistan. Its media team is very strong. This media team started their election campaigns on social media. While the other parties invested thousands of rupees in corner meetings, political sessions as well as door-to-door campaigns. PTI just motivated his media team and advertised everything on social media. It was a great impact of Facebook, X, Instagram, and TikTok that this party won the election. Unfortunately, this party was put in the backdoors due to political engineering. In Pakistan, everyone knows better who is a winner and who is a loser. Anyway, I have witnessed strongly the impact of social media on Pakistani Politics.

Social Media is a good tool to spread news and also for political campaigns. But some things should be improved. In Political Campaigns, we should not abuse someone's matters. We should not spread someone's scandal just to snatch his or her votes. Moreover, this social media also has been a source of blackmailing at the hands of Mafias. Hence, we should improve our approach towards social media. Similarly, all Social Media should take action against propaganda as well as fake and deepfake videos. In this way, we can make better use of social media in politics.

Final Thoughts

There was a time when people advertised their political campaigns in newspapers, fixed banners in the Streets as well as handed over pamphlets to the workers. Due to social media Advancements, now political campaigns have been changed. Now politicians connect their workers on social media. If a party has a strong media team, then it has a strong chance of winning. Hence, if we are political workers, then we should advertise our favorite leader on social media. Our one post can have the biggest impact. We should make positive use of social media while conducting political campaigns.
