Now incidents only count if: the student is over 10, it's a felony, AND it was reported to police. All three must be met. Assaults plummeted from 4.9 per 1,000 students (2017-18) to 0.5 per 1,000 (2023-24) — not because schools got safer, but because most incidents no longer "count."
