Managers Outside of the NY Mets

Ron Darling played for the following managers outside of the New York Mets:

  • Buck Rodgers (Montreal Expos, 1991)
  • Tony La Russa (Oakland Athletics, 1991-1995)
  • Art Howe (Oakland Athletics, 1996-1997)
  • Davey Johnson (again, with the Oakland Athletics in 1997, although briefly, as Darling was released mid-season)

These managers led the teams Darling played for after leaving the Mets.

Ron Darling only played through 1995. He did not play for Art Howe.

Also Davey Johnson never managed the Oakland Athletics.

Here is a correction:

Ron Darling only played through 1995. He did not play for Art Howe who started to manage the A's in 1996.

Also Davey Johnson never managed the Oakland Athletics.
