Filipinos are known for their hospitality and adaptability, but in some cases these positive traits can lead to negative outcomes. In this case GOOD MANNERS LEADS TO AN EMPTY TABLE, as can be seen in the photo.
The politeness of all the house guests attending this casual party led to not a single person willing to be the first to sit down at the table. "You first," "No, you first," and so on and so on until the food got cold and everybody began to lose interest.

We're staying in the Philippines for this next one as well, and we see a recently finished construction project by one of our very own ASEAN Hivers. This little hut is actually a trap designed to catch a very specific kind of prey.
It's a LEPRECHAUN TRAP folks, yep, in the Philippines. Most people don't know it, but way back in the colonial days there was an Irish merchant ship full of gold that sunk off the shores, and ever since then leprechauns have been drawn to the Philippines in search of their beloved gold.

We finish this curation with a tragic tale from good ole' Malaysia, where an EAGLE ATTACKED A HIVER'S HEAD in the middle of the day without reason. This man is a devoted husband and caring father, but he was targeted for eagle attack regardless.
Local authorities stated this was not an eagle, clearly a falcon sent by a deranged falconer somewhere in Central Asia. Why would a humble Kazakh falconer want to attack a random SE Asian guy? There are many unanswered questions, but for now it's best to keep your eyes on the sky in Malaysia until this threat is neutralized.

Hey @justinparke, your Weekly ASEAN Hive "Hot Goss" is always a fun read. I couldn't stop laughing at the story of the empty table due to good manners. It's a classic Filipino trait, and I am sure a lot of people can totally relate to it.
And a leprechaun trap in the Philippines? I laughed hard at that one. I hope someone catches one and gets rich. But the eagle attack in Malaysia is no joke. I hope the authorities catch that deranged falconer soon.

There are occasions where I find nothing in the comments of this weekly curation, and for me it's okay because I make myself laugh while writing these fictional tales 😆. I've never been to the Philippines, but I've had many co-workers and friends from your country here in Cambodia, so I think I know the attitude and habits pretty well.
When I saw the photo of the falcon line up perfectly with his head, I knew it had to be in the hot goss. Thanks for enjoying this curation.
