Greetings ASEAN Hivers, @justinparke here with a challenge for you ASEAN Hive chefs, and this one is all about coconut milk, a ubiquitous Southeast Asian ingredient.

     This challenge is way late, apologies, but this week life is overwhelming in so many ways, just doing the best I can do. Coconut milk, whether you make it yourself, have it fresh-squeezed by a vendor in the market, or buy it in a can or carton, coconut milk is never far from a Southeast Asian kitchen. From curries to desserts, this versatile ingredient can be used for savory or sweet purposes.

     Share your coconut milk creations with us for this challenge, and they don't necessarily have to be recipes. You can share the various ways you use it, or even just document how the vendor produces and sells coconut milk at a market. As long as something is created, it's welcome in this challenge. You could even make some coconut oil from milk, a very labor-intensive but rewarding process when it goes well and doesn't burn. I look forward to your entries.

🏚️ After Kalmaegi: Rebuild & Rise 🐦‍🔥

     There were some very heartwarming and inspiring entries for this challenge. I am sorry for the hardship some of you and your family members are facing due to home damage, and especially so with a second typhoon following in the wake of Kalmaegi. One entry from Bangladesh was disqualified because it didn't benefit any of the Kalmaegi victims in any way, so I replaced it with a post from @shikika detailing the destruction left by Uwan.

     In addition to 10% beneficiary this week, I am awarding 15 HIVE to each of the winning entries, not much, but it's what I can manage as I've lost my house in Cambodia due to a storm and can't afford to rebuild yet. Stay strong you all and I hope roof damage is able to get repaired quickly.

Watching the news and seeing photos online broke my heart, but it hit differently when it reached my own hometown. Maybe some of you already know that we live just near the sea and that’s why every time there’s a strong typhoon, I can’t help but worry.
