     This week's challenge is summoning those with artistic talents, and even non-artistic folks if you are creative enough to turn some awful art into an entertaining post. Last week was focused on the culinary arts, and now we focus on the visual arts, particularly those that take place on walls, paper, and canvas. This challenge is so simple that it requires little explanation, so paint, sketch, or draw something and share it with us.

     Whether you've got a bucket of paint or half a pencil, you can take part in this challenge. Personally, my drawing abilities peaked in 2nd grade, so I envy a little, but mostly enjoy when I see others putting their artistic talents to paper and canvas. My daughters are the inspiration for this challenge, so I hope to see at least one them participate. Remember that a good post also tells a good story, so don't forget to be just as creative with your text.

👩‍🍳 ASEAN Chef: Coconuts 🥥

     Was it selfish of to me prepare a challenge featuring one of my favorite foods/ingredients? The answer is probably yes, but it looked like you ASEAN Hive chefs had a good time too, so many dishes to drool and marvel over. There were far more than the three entries I have featured here, and I dare say all entries are worthy of your time, so if you want to explore further in depth, I recommend exploring the previous challenge post's comments section for all the post links.

My Favorite Alernative to Maja Blanca, The Maja Monggo!

Maja Blanca is sometimes called coconut pudding as one of its ingredients is coconut milk then topped with toasted coconut milk curd. This dessert is semi-sweet and its soft pudding texture makes it addicting to eat. For Maja Blanca which uses corn on its ingredients, they also add some grated cheddar cheese on top. These recipe I used is from my favorite chef vlogger, Chef RV. It was through him that I learned about red mung beans as another option in replacement for corn on Maja Blanca.

ASEAN Hive Community Challenge #144 : ASEAN Chef: Coconuts (Buko Berry Jelly Drink or Coconut Strawberry Jelly Drink)

The ASEAN Community Challenge this time is about COCONUTS, one of my favorites. May it be in cooking main dishes, delicacies, and others, coconut is a great ingredient. In fact, I've already posted some of my cooking using coconut but it was more on main dishes. So this time, for this week's challenge, I want to try to make a different menu using coconut which is a refreshing drink. I call it "Buko Berry Jelly Drink or "Coconut Strawberry Jelly Drink" So, this was how I made it.

A Coconut Celebration: Alupi, Baling and Biko

Growing up in a secluded area, coconut-based dishes were a normal part of my life. I was born and raised surrounded by them! We used every part of the coconut. The soft, inner flesh (Ubod) was perfect for enriching gulay or meat soups. The leaves were used to wrap kakanin, like my favorite ebus, and other sweet rice cakes. We even made candies and snacks from the coconut meat! Of course, coconut milk was a staple in our farm cooking.
