Charactober - Ashling -> Foundry ghost
Ashlings are spirites that lurk in places where fire has been used. Places where fire has gone awry. Places which had Foundries, wild fires and home fires, blacksmiths and other similar places. Some of the spirites will come to places where fire is out of control and steal the fire with their pouring tools and then dousing fire with a bucket that seems to have endless water. other times they seem to add to the fire. Why these spirits do what they do, why sometimes they help and other times they hurt isn't known.
Now to the process.
I started with a sketch of the foundry space. I used the scopus pencil brush in procreate.
Then I added the spirit.
I started off colouring the spirit with colours that didn't quite work for me. I liked the idea of one side being red and the other blue with the middle being purple.
But this def wasn't what i was gonna leave it all.
I added a collar to the helmet and then did some blending which i think looked much better.
I also added colour to the big thing from the foundry. The presence of the ashling brings out the memory of fire.
Mostly happy with the spirit I moved onto the the area the spirits hanging out it.
Then i added some more lights and crap on the ground. I tried to make the texture of the floor look like rubble but it didn't quite work.
The last stage was adding in some dark around to give it a more ominous feel.

I love the purplish blue light effect that is the magic that made this piece work for me I love it. I did not do this prompt I jumped to prompt 3 right away because I got excited hahaha.
Thank you! I am doing 3 today :)
did you use a layer when you added that last ominous kind of effect?
Yes I did. Otherwise it's to hard to tweak it. I actually started with the whole thing getting the effect and earased the layer until I liked the result.
yes that is true and very helpful using layers
Yuuupnlne of the main benefits of using digital
