Sublime Sunday: Khalifa Park
Family Day
These winter months in the UAE are the best time to go to the park. We recently had a get-together at the park with some church friends. Just a simple chill and relax afternoon with the family. It was agreed to spend the afternoon at the Khalifa Park.
Having lived in Abu Dhabi for many years, this was the first time we were here at the Khalifa Park. Want to know why? There's an entrance ticket. LOL. It's only AED 2 ($0.52) but still, with so many free family parks, then we'd rather go to the free ones, eh?

Anyway, since most of the churchmates are closer here, then Khalifa Park it is. I even had to detour a couple of times because Google Maps could not point us properly to the place. Whew...
And when we got inside, we were amazed at how huge the place was. As in, it was ginormous!
There were lots of open spaces for games, picnics, and barbecue. There were also bouncy castles, food trucks, and even horse carriage riding!

I took the opportunity to walk around and check out the place. I am sure there were lots that I did not see since I only walked in the middle lane of the park. There was so much to see, an hour walk would not be enough. LOL.

Sunset came, and it was so magnificent. Hubs and I sat and watched the sunset for a while. How nice it is to just be there and savor each moment. Stripped of all worries, just pure peace.

Before we knew it, it was dark, and we started preparing for dinner. The kids played a few rounds of UNO while waiting for the food, not minding the chilly wind already blanketing around us. Oh well, not until we realized that we were not dressed warm enough to withstand the cold any longer.😝
