Smashin' at the Louvre, Abu Dhabi | Shadow Hunters Round 369

An afternoon at the Louvre.

Over the past two weeks that my sister was here in the UAE, there were days when the heat was soo extreme. We did not want to really go out, but felt that we had to, so that she could maximize her time and visit wherever we could.

After that mesmerizing experience at the Qasr Al Watan Presidential Palace the previous night, we planned to visit the Louvre Museum at the Saadiyat Island the following day.

This time, we had the kids with us (just because tickets for under 18 years were free! LOL). We've been here before, but for fun, we decided to take the water taxi to cross from the city to Saadiyat Island.

Let's go shadow hunting!

It was a sunny (hot) afternoon. We booked our tickets for 3.00 PM. Nobody wanted to stop for photo ops. Nooopeee, let's just go straight inside.

This walkway provided some shade to the visitors, while there were also beautiful shadows that I could not help but capture. As I said, we've been here before, so most of the main collections, I have photos already. So this time, I'm gonna go shadow hunting!

Museum pieces.

Lights from the museum highlight the beauty of the pieces on display.

Sorry, I was not able to get details of these stone tablets...

This one is but one of the life-size artworks on display.

Errm, this one's not life-size. She's rather big. Again, I forgot to take details. I was honestly already exhausted. I barely had sleep the previous night.

But yeah, I'm here for the shadows, yay! 😅

Rain of Lights

After finishing the main collections in the museum, we stepped out and were greeted by this beautiful view. The Louvre's dome provided sufficient cover from the sun, yet streaks of light passed through.

Visitors can walk from building to building under a "rain of light" as the sun's light penetrates the perforations of the Louvre's dome.

Beautiful. This photo will also be my entry for this week.

That's about it, for now. I hope to be able to share more soon. For now, these is my entry to this week's Shadow Hunters SMASh Contest-Round 369.

Thanks and see you around!

This is what I call an excellent shadow hunter.

What beautiful shadow guards! It's great that you were attentive enough to capture them.

Your shots, dear friend @arrliinn, are truly beautiful.

Have a wonderful weekend.
