The Filipino Foods that Made my Weeks Precious: From Sinigang to Suman
Hello hivemates!
How have you been?
I hope that all is well.

Today, I want to tell you about the Filipino foods that made my heart happy!
There’s something about Filipino dishes that can make my day, even though I've been eating them all my life.
Let me show you some of them.

1 Pancit with Lechon Kawali - This food is one of the most popular foods during the birthday celebration. They say that the pancit is a symbol of a long life. Most of the birthday celebrants would eat it, hoping for a longer life.
You can also put a lot of vegetables as toppings to make it healthier. This one is extra special because of the lechon kawali (crispy fried pork belly), which is irresistible.

2 Shrimp Sinigang - This food has a sour soup. The tamarind is the source of its sour taste.
This is perfect when it’s rainy weather. It has a flavorful and comforting taste when eaten during the bed weather. I love how you can mix it with vegetables such as tomatoes, string beans, eggplant, and radish.

3 Lumpiang Shanghai (spring roll) - This one is a common food in celebration. It’s meat filled, wrapped in a lumpia wrapper. It’s crispy and best when dipped in banana ketchup or sweet chili sauce.

- Sinigang na Salmon - This is one of my comfort foods. I prefer this compared to the other type of sinigang because I love the very rich flavor of salmon.

5 Laing - This food is not that common anymore. Maybe because it’s very tedious to prepare, but I super love this.
It has taro leaves boiled in coconut milk. We can either put pork and dried fish in it, and some chili peppers.

6 Suman - It is rice cooked in coconut milk with sugar and wrapped in banana leaves. It can be dipped in coconut jam.
These are the Filipino foods that comforted my soul for the past few days and weeks. What about you? What are your favorite Filipino dishes?
Wow! Filipino delicacies is so delicious, perfect match with my favorite coffee. The sinigang na hipon is also my comforting meal.
@dreamrona i can imagine how you eat the delicacies with your coffee (slowly savoring it while sipping your drink 😉
Sinigang na hipon is so pricey here in manila 😁

Ang sarap ng mga pagkain. I am drooling while looking at the food that you posted. Well, one of my favorites was the sinigang shrimp, the sourness is pretty good. Well, it's more sour in the Luzon area than in the Mindanao. !wine
