Craving for today: Bananacue, a deep-fried banana coated in caramelized sugar served on a bamboo stick.
It's gonna be my first time posting in this community. As a mom of two kids, I have this desire to learn how to cook well. Although I'm not that great of a cook, I can say that I put my heart into it whenever I prepare a dish for them.
So here's the usual food that we snack on.
One of our go-to snacks in the afternoon is this yummy bananacue.
So instead of buying a precooked one, I tried to do it myself to save up and eat as much as I want.
In general, Filipinos, also known as Pinoy, are snack lovers. And banana cue is one of the top picks.
So here's the step-by-step process that I did.
This is very simple and easy to cook.
Here are the Ingredients:
- 6 pcs of plantain
- 6 tablespoons of sugar
- 1/2 cup of cooking oil
- bamboo sticks
Here are the steps:
- I used a large pan for better heat distribution.
- Next, I preheat the oil, and fry the bananas for around 5 minutes (low fire).
- The banana will turn light brown.
- So I added sugar and stirred it constantly until the brown sugar melted.
- Lastly, I put the banana cue on a stick.
Here's the finish product.
So yummy!

Ohh, one of the best snacks that a Filipino has. Like affordable and you can really fin them everywhere, they're everywhere here in our small town. How about sa lugar nyo? And cooking them at home is better too coz you can cook them however you want. You cook this so well, I prefer this kind like mejo crunchy and edges. Super masarap if manibalang, uwu
@ruffatotmeee you seemed to be cooking it as well. In Manila, it's sort of expensive already. So, you might as well cook it by yourself. Thanks for dropping by.
