Things I Wish I Knew When I Started Playing Splinterlands
Splinterlands looks like an easy game on the surface, but it only takes a few games to realise that appearances can be deceiving, and quite a bit.
In the course of my two and a half years as a player, I have gained a lot of experience, learnt many things and realised, often only after a long time, how to improve my performance and rewards.
So if I had to make a list of the things I 'wish I had known when I started playing' so that I could progress faster and avoid a lot of the frustration that has marked certain periods of my time on Splinterlands, these are the things that, in my opinion, a player should not underestimate.
Having enough SPS
Since SPS determine the number of rewards points you can get with each win, having a number that suits the league you are playing in has become essential.

Playing with a multiplier that is too low means getting few rewards and few SPS, wasting a lot of your potential earnings.
If you don't have enough SPS and don't have the funds to buy them from the market, the solution is to rent them.
I can assure you that the difference between a x4 and x9 multiplier is huge and that the small cost of renting SPS is largely repaid by the higher rewards obtained in exchange.
Join a Guild
If you're an introvert like me, doing activities that involve interacting with others can often be difficult... but if you want to speed up your progress on Splinterlands, joining a guild is an almost mandatory choice in my opinion.

The weekly commitment is very low and in return you get SPS and Gladius cards, which are very useful in matchmaking, especially at lower levels where certain combos are virtually unstoppable.
Joining the EDSF Guild was absolutely one of the best things I've done on Splinterlands and the advice is to do everything you can to find one to join and start taking part in brawls.
Don't underestimate Rewards cards
I also wrote a post about it: Rewards cards are free - they are unlocked by playing - and are used heavily in the meta, at all levels.
They are strong and versatile cards, which have little to envy to the cards from the other sets.

The fact that the current Rewards set also includes Summoners that allow the use of Gladius cards is then the icing on the cake: without having to pay a penny, you can have access to a lot of very powerful cards, with which you can improve your performance and unlock ever greater rewards.
If you lack an expensive card... rent it!
Renting cards is often very cheap: if there is a particular card that you keep losing to or that you feel could make a difference in your games, the solution is simple... rent it!

There's no need to go on a spending spree, but 3-4 cards can make huge improvements to your team and it's worth giving it a try, testing cards you don't own and seeing how much they improve your winrate.
The secret is to make use of the many tools available
Splinterlands is not just a game, but a gaming platform that offers a thousand different tools to refine our strategies and improve our performance: learning to use them to our advantage is the key to growing faster and unlocking bigger rewards.
Sometimes some risks will turn out to be wrong, but only by taking risks can we learn and, in the long run, the increased experience and ability to make full use of the possibilities offered by the game will make the difference between staying stuck in the same spot and climbing the different Leagues getting closer and closer to our goals!

Cose Che Avrei Voluto Sapere Quando Ho Iniziato a Giocare a Splinterlands
