LeoDex and LEO: New Staking Contract for LEO
On Arbitrum, I keep my LEO staked on LeoDex: in return, I receive another token, sLEO, which represents my staked LEO position.
Thanks to this position, I usually earn dividends in USDC, which I then use to buy more LEO.
So far, the dividends I’ve received have been quite small but, as I explained in a previous post, I prefer to keep my LEO on Arbitrum anyway since it allows me to access more swap and arbitrage opportunities.
However, it would be foolish to completely ignore the dividends, as they might increase over time.
That’s why a few days ago I migrated my LEO from the old to the new staking contract as soon as this was announced.
Some updates required abandoning the old contract and following a specific procedure to move to the new one: the process is described in the post I linked above and consists of five steps that must be completed in order and only after receiving confirmation that the previous step has been completed successfully.
Some of these steps require paying a gas fee, so you’ll need a few cents’ worth of ETH available.
In my case, the process was very simple and only took a few seconds to complete.
I use Metamask as my wallet, and the only thing to keep in mind in these situations is to make sure that your browser detects the correct wallet (Metamask, in my case) as the primary one when connecting to a new application, and not one of the others you may have installed.
For those using Brave, for example, pay attention since Brave Wallet might be selected as the default wallet.

At the end of the process, your sLEO token balance will once again be visible in the dedicated section on leodex/leo.
As of now, I don’t think the dividend distribution has resumed yet — it was paused to allow everyone to migrate to the new contract.
I’m curious to see when it restarts and hope the new system proves even more robust than the previous one.
I would like to start buying some LEOs again... but to do so, I need to receive slightly higher dividends: it's true that my position is not that big... but it's not that small either, and over time it would be nice to see it generate an APR of at least 2-3%.
Dividends are not my primary reason for holding LEO... but they are still a reason!

LeoDex e LEO: Nuovo Contratto di Staking per LEO
Su Arbitrum detengo i miei LEO in forma staked su LeoDex: in cambio ottengo un altro token, sLEO, che rappresenta la mia posizione di LEO in staking.
Grazie a questa posizione ottengo - di solito - dei dividendi in USDC, che poi uso per acquistare altri LEO.
Finora i dividendi che ho ottenuto sono stati molto bassi ma, come ho spiegato in un precedente post, preferisco tenere i miei LEO comunque su Arbtrum perchè ciò mi consente di accedere a più opportunità di swap e arbitraggio.
Tuttavia sarebbe sciocco ignorare completamente i dividendi, dato che nel tempo è possibile che questi crescano.
Per questo ho alcuni giorni fa proceduto a migrare i miei LEO dal vecchio al nuovo contratto di staking non appena questo è stato annunciato.
Alcune modifiche hanno infatti richiesto di abbandonare il vecchio contratto e seguire un'apposita procedura per passare al nuovo: la procedura è descritta nel post che vi ho linkato sopra e si compone di cinque passaggi che devono essere compiuti in ordine e dopo aver ricevuto la conferma che lo step precedente è stato completato correttamente.
Alcuni di questi passaggi richiedono il pagamento di una gas fee, per cui è necessario avere qualche centesimo di ETH a disposizione.
Nel mio caso la procedura è stata molto semplice e mi ha richiesto pochi secondi per essere completata.
Io come wallet uso Metamask e l'unica accortezza che bisogna seguire in questi casi è assicurarsi che il browser, quando si tenta di connettere il proprio wallet ad una nuova applicazione, rilevi come primo wallet quello che ci interessa (Metamask nel mio caso), e non uno degli altri che possiamo avere installati.
Per chi usa Brave, ad esempio, fate attenzione perchè Brave Wallet potrebbe essere selezionato come wallet di default.

Al termine della procedura il nostro portafoglio di token sLEO sarà nuovamente visualizzabile nell'apposita schermata disponibile su leodex/leo.
Ad oggi la distribuzione dei dividendi non credo sia ancora ripresa - era infatti stata messa in pausa per consentire a tutti di migrare sul nuovo contratto.
Sono curioso di vedere quanto riprenderà e spero che il nuovo sistemi sia ancora più robusto del precedente.
Mi piacerebbe infatti poter riprendere ad acquistare qualche LEO... ma per farlo ho bisogno di ricevere dividenti un po' più consistenti: vero è che la mia posizione non è tanto grande... ma non è nemmeno così piccola e nel tempo sarebbe bello vederla generare un APR che si attesti intorno almeno al 2/3%.
I dividendi non sono la mia prima ragione per detenere LEO... ma sono comunque una ragione!
