Mary and the Witch's Flower 🪻

Though ours here is not that great because of the bad weather nowadays, which can cause illnesses like colds, cough and fever. We'll just take extra care...😊❣

I had a chance to watch an animated film again last night with my daughter @tegoshei because she did not work due to her fever. But thankfully, she's feeling a bit better now.
We were browsing some movies on Netflix last night, and she wants me to decide or choose what to watch. Then I came across this film "Mary and the Witch's Flower" and chose this one because I know my daughter will like it too. This is similar to some Ghibli movies.

Mary and the Witch's Flower is a Japanese animated fantasy film, directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi under Studio Ponoc.

The film follows the story of Mary Smith, who lives with her great aunt Charlotte in a northern English estate.

Mary is a kind of girl who is innocent, curious, energetic, but clumsy. One day, she meets Peter, a local boy, who teases Mary for her clumsiness and wild hair. Mary also meets Tib and Gib, Peter's cats, that lead Mary to some mysterious glowing flowers. Mary took the flowers and showed them to Zebedee the estate gardener, and Zebedee identified the flowers as "fly by night". Legend has it that witches covet the flower for its magical power.

The next day, Gib disappears, and Tib went to Mary and was kind of asking her for help to find Gib. Tib then led Mary to the forest, where she found a broomstick, but Mary accidentally burst a fly-by-night bulb in the broomstick, and it instantly released magical powers that brought the broomstick to life and enabling Mary to ride it like a witch. And they ended up in some buildings in the clouds known as Endor College of Witches.

The headmaster of the school, Madame Mumblechook, thought Mary was a new student, so she introduced Mary to Dr Dee, the school's renowned chemistry teacher.

They test Mary's magical ability and capacity, but later find out that Mary's magic came from the fly-by-night bulb and that Tib belongs to Peter.

Madam and Dr Dee were after the witch's flower, so they kidnapped Peter to let Mary give them the flowers.

I think I should let you watch what happened after they kidnapped Peter. But I assure you it's really interesting, exciting and a lot to reveal and a lot to discover, like the magical transformations in the laboratory. Let's find out whether Peter, Gib, and other creatures were saved. In addition, let’s see Mary's connection to the broomstick and the witch's flower.

I highly recommend this to you because this is another beautiful movie, you will love the scenery, the music and the artistry they used. It adds a whimsical feel to this adventurous film. Most of all, you'll be drawn and moved by Mary's kindness and bravery, and before I forget, I should thank Flanagan for his enthusiasm, and again, it's for you to find out why.
