Cooking Biko with Cheesy Caramel Toppings as Our Thank-You Gift for Those Who Helped Us During Typhoon!! 💖

During our hardest time due to the typhoon and severe flooding, it was so overwhelming to see how many people helped us. Even though some of them were also affected, they still extended their help to us.

I know some of our neighbors prioritized helping me, but at that moment, I was a bit blank, maybe because of stress and trauma. It just sank in too late into my mind. However, I know there are a lot of people helping us. And I am forever grateful for them.

So, I decided to give them a simple gift… a gift from my passion for cooking with a heart.

My family helped me in preparing this, and my husband sent it to them individually.

So, here's our simple gift for those who helped us, including our landlady and her family.

I cooked two batches of this "Glutinous Rice Cake with Cheesy Caramel".
My husband sent it first to our landlady since she lives a bit near to us.

As I was writing a draft of this post, my husband was sending those tubs of biko to our neighbors who helped us.

It is always a great feeling to share even just a little of the blessing we have. We also shared with them some of the goods we received from friends and family, like clothes and groceries.

We are so lucky to have some very kind neighbors who helped us not only during the typhoon but even until now in cleaning our muddy house and the muddy stuff at home.

They constantly update us on the situation there. I wasn't able to visit there again because my husband and my daughter @tegoshei won't allow me, at least not until it is already clean and safe.

I will surely visit there soon.
