The First Sunny Day of The Year

This is a post to go with #WednesdayWalk challenge by @tattoodjay.

This winter is fundamentally different from last winter. The main difference is the amount of Sun and snow. We have more snow, and sunny days can be counted on the fingers of one hand. One of those days was last Saturday. But you need to understand that if the Sun is visible in the sky in winter, then the mark on the thermometer goes down, i.e., it gets colder. How much is on the thermometer? -20? It won't stop my dog and me from walking. But it must be borne in mind that due to the increased snowfall, there are fewer walking options. You can only walk along the road.

The dog logically decided that we were going for a walk along the road with her. But I had other plans in this regard. We are not looking for easy ways, and I told Nora that we would go the other way.

That's our direction of travel. Two days ago, the road was clear, and it was safe to walk along it, but now it has turned into a narrow path. I think someone was walking in the woods, and that suits me very well, where I can let the dog off the leash so that it can run around calmly and not scare anyone.

I reached the forest, and it turned out that there was no way to walk through the forest; there was only a road along the edge of the forest with access to another street. I decided that we would go for a walk to the cemetery, because there are no living people there and there is a clean, wide road.

I didn't want to take the iPhone out of my pocket, but those fir cones convinced me to get it out.

Now it is very rare to see a simple wooden cross in the cemetery; everyone has begun to erect stone monuments, even with a full-size image of the deceased.

What is the height of the snow cap? I wanted to measure it, but according to my visual sensations, I think it's at least 50 cm. And I know that over the past 3 more days, these snow caps have grown in height, because the snowfall has continued its work again.

By the way, my dog and I saw many animal tracks from the forest in the cemetery. They were mostly fox tracks, but I also saw a hare track. I'm not a very good track specialist, and I couldn't understand some of the tracks, but they were definitely not dogs.

The dog called me to go towards the river, but it was time for us to go home. I agreed with her that we would go there next time. I now know that someone has made a road through the cemetery towards the river. And that's a good thing.

Friends, goodbye! Until the next walk.

Well. I wish all my friends, observers, and readers wonderful walks on Wednesdays. And also on Sundays and any other day!

Although the cold makes my bones ache and I don't like it, I've wanted to see snow since I was a child. Your photos are beautiful, and I'm so glad you took your dog for a walk despite the snowfall. @apnigrich 😉

I love snow, but I live in a country where there is only one season and the cold cities where there is snow are very far from my city so I rarely visit them but I love walking and grabbing it at night with my hands. Greetings

I have never experienced snow before, but can it be compared to harmattan season since it's cold season too?

There has been a lot of snow this year. But when there is a lot of snow falling, the frost is not very strong.

Мороз и солнце - день чудесный! 😄 Пёсель совсем не против прогуляться в такую погоду? Или его насильно выводят на выкак)))

Thank you very much for your comment.
The main thing is that there is no wind, and then the frost is not terrible.
