The Cavalrybird

Greetings friends.
Until the very beginning of writing the article, I did not know the name of this bird. I understood that she reminded me of a starling in body shape, but she is larger than our black starling and the color is not the same. It turned out to be Common Myna. And indeed, this bird belongs to the starling family. I'll just call her "Starling" because I might forget the original name.

I can say that I have seen these starlings in Abu Dhabi more often than other birds. It usually happened in the morning when I went to the beach and on the way back. And I also heard their beautiful singing among the trees. Yes, they sing great. But, in my opinion, black starlings sing more diverse songs and often imitate previously heard sounds.

Specifically, I met this starling in Dubai when we visited one of the amazing palm-shaped bulk islands. This singer walked among people and was not afraid of anyone. Maybe he even wanted to eat some seeds or a piece of bread. But the people didn't treat him to anything this time.

I often pay attention to their paws in birds. It seems that the starling stretches out like a string on purpose to appear taller and his legs seem very slender. But after a moment I realized that I was very wrong about the slimness of this bird. She looked like an old professional cavalryman as if she had been riding a horse all her life and had not jumped or run on the ground much.

Meet my friends. It's a cavalryman starling! Of course, you might think that this is some kind of single starling with such an arrangement of legs. But then I also met similar birds with the same paws. Funny.
The guy let me know that the photo shoot was over and he needed to hurry off on his bird business. Goodbye, see you again!

It gives the impression that it is elegant, all stretched out, it strikes me that it walked among people with such confidence. Could it be that starlings are more sociable birds than others or could it be that this solitary bird is already accustomed to that place?
