The Buzzard (7pics)

In the last days of April and early May, I spent a whole week in bird paradise. Every morning, I took my camera and went for a walk. We must take into account that every day the weather changed radically from warm to cold and vice versa. It even snowed on the first of May. But at the same time, every morning was favorable for a walk, without precipitation.
My photo bird hunting was especially fruitful on sunny mornings.
Today I want to tell you about the buzzard.

My children's country house is located on the shore of a pond. There is a deer farm behind the pond. Buzzards could be seen over the pond every day. On a sunny day, you could see three or two of these birds at once. It looks like they were mating games. The birds flew out to hunt singly or at some distance from each other.
In the early days, I thought it was the black kite, but I realized I was mistaken upon closer inspection. They were buzzards.

Black kite or buzzard? What is the difference? The first thing is the tails. A vulture has a V-shaped tail, while a buzzard has a straight one. The second is the shape of the wing. The buzzard's wings seem to be wider. And it also immediately seemed strange to me that the bird flaps its wings a lot and hovers a little on the air jets. The kite rarely flaps its wings.

Probably, in order to take a high-quality photo of such a bird, you need to sit or stand in one place and wait for the bird to fly over me. But it's not really a walk anymore. And birds also try to climb higher into the sky in sunny weather. This does not improve the quality of photography.
I think that to get a good photo, at least 2 factors should coincide: The sun should be shining from behind and the bird should be positioned not exactly overhead, but at an angle of 70-80 degrees. There is also one more factor - it is desirable that the bird makes a U-turn.

By the way, that's not a very good photo - poor lighting. It was the morning of May 1, the north wind was starting to blow, the sky was gray, and the sun was hidden by a thick veil. I froze while walking because I was not dressed for the weather.
But this photo seems interesting to me. Friends, look at the plumage of the bird. Large flight feathers are very rare, and the tail is straight.
I think it's an old bird, and it's molting.

This is the buzzard with the rare feathers. He's sitting on the fence of a deer farm. It looks like his feathers are untidily ruffled. He looks old and not very healthy.
