Friday Evening And The Piano (7pics)

This is a post to go with #WednesdayWalk challenge by @tattoodjay.

Yes, @tattoodjay, I know it's Friday, but not Wednesday. But I walk every day. And I hope that you also walk every day, not just one day a week.
Today I realized that I have not been to the city Embankment for a long time. In winter, it is not very comfortable to walk there, especially in windy weather. But the spring days have started to be quite warm, and so tonight I decided to look at the river.
The ice on the river is already in a state of rapid withdrawal. Clear open water flows along the shore and ducks swim on it. But I see that there is a big crack in the middle of the river.

In previous years, this trailer with fast food and coffee only worked in the summer, but this year it worked even in winter. This is probably because the winter was warm and there were more people on the Embankment than in previous years.
I tell all my friends that a warm winter is very good, but for some reason, not everyone agrees with this. They say that winter should be cold, but they can't name any positive aspects of a cold winter.

I decided not to go to the end of the Embankment but turned to Alexandrovsky Park to look at the rotunda. Last year, the rotundas were renovated for the anniversary of the city. They were built more than 100 years ago. Nowadays, girls like to take pictures against the background of these objects. Probably, ladies 100 years ago would also have taken selfies against the background of rotundas if they had smartphones.

There is a piano in the rotunda. Sometimes you can meet people playing this piano. In the fall, I read the news that some enthusiast restored this musical instrument. Yes, it's very fun to listen to the piano in this room. The sound goes into the domed ceiling, it is reflected there and gives an additional sound effect.

For some reason, there weren't many more people on the Embankment and in the Park today. But surely soon young people will be walking here in the evenings and musicians will play and sing songs.
In the meantime, I headed out of the park. By the way, this week I replaced my winter shoes with spring ones, which is a great pleasure!

Friends, goodbye! Until the next walk.

Perhaps there are only few people taking a walk this time. Piano looks lonely in the rotunda; it needs someone to play its keys so it could warm up too. There will be more outdoor activities to do in the coming days with the arrival of Spring; and more walks to come.

Thank you for your comment.

By the way, I have photos of the pianist. But it was during the New Year holidays.

Oh lovely! So, this is also a famous spot for celebrating some occasions then. I am amazed that it can withstand winter without cover outside.

The park is nice and if musicians would play instrument at night time the place turns into a magical one.
