Here we are, the Big Move !
No, it's a bit in advance because it's only on Thursday that we'll be leaving for the countryside and our new home, with a truck full of various and sundry things, but for the moment... well, we're just getting organized !
Every day brings its share of things to do and find, which is why today I'm just doing a little photo report of our boxes and various items ! Armed with my Nikon D5500 and my Sigma 17-70mm lens, I'm struggling to make my way through the living room full of boxes and cardboard...
Here, my best ally of the moment: the tape reel !
These are the bulk of our boxes for the moment. Wooden wine boxes, tools, food and initial installation equipment...
A few days ago, we bought around ten wooden crates, the kind used to carry bottles of wine, and we filled them mainly with books, but also with other goods.
These are two army camping beds - I'm a pacifist by nature ^^ - but they're very comfortable and made to last !
A few details of the canvas fixing system, but I'll unfold them for you once I've arrived at the country house !
I've decided to divide the food we have in town in two, so we'll have enough to eat when we arrive !

Non, c'est un peu anticipé car c'est seulement jeudi que nous partirons pour la campagne et notre nouvelle maison, avec un camion plein d'affaires diverses et variées, mais pour l'instant... et bien nous sommes dans l'organisation !
Chaque jour apporte son lot de choses à faire et à trouver et c'est pour cela qu'aujourd'hui, je ne fais qu'un petit reportage photographique de nos cartons et différentes affaires ! Armé de mon Nikon D5500 et de mon objectif Sigma 17-70mm, je tente péniblement d'avancer dans le salon rempli de boîtes et de cartons...
Ici, mon meilleur allié du moment : le dérouleur de scotch !
Voilà le gros de nos cartons pour le moment. Des boîtes à vin en bois, des outils, de la nourriture et du matériel de première installation...
Il y a quelques jours, nous avons acheté une dizaine de caisses en bois, celles pour porter des bouteilles de vin et nous les avons rempli majoritairement de livres mais aussi d'autres denrées.
Ici, ce sont deux lits de camps de l'armée - je suis plutôt pacifiste dans l'idée ^^ - mais ceux-ci sont très confortables et surtout bien conçus pour durer !
Quelques détails du système de fixation de la toile, mais je vous les déplierai à l'occasion une fois sur place, bien arrivés à la maison de campagne !
Nous terminerons avec ces deux images pas très claires d'une partie de notre stock de nourriture, en effet, j'ai décidé de diviser en deux celui que nous avons en ville et ça nous ferra de quoi manger en arrivant !

Well, that's probably the most "painfull" thing about moving to a new home. Packing all your stuff to various boxes and get them to the new location. Been there, done that...
But in the end you're going to your new home and a most definitely lovely place. So it's worth the efforts.
Good luck with the transport and that everything will get along as you plan for.
Indeed, that will be a tuff and intense journey and day... but as you said, it totally worth it :)

I've only moved a few times in my life, I have no experience of it but I think it's quite stressful and complicated.

Im homeless again in 2 weeks
hopefully I find at least some place where I can store my stuff (instead it being robbed and destroyed again)
cuz finding a new "home" (even the worst with BIG HOLES in the walls) is quite impossible and expensive AS FUCK
I also hope I can repair the car so one can at least buy some food and have a dry place to store the stuff one needs everyday
yes, a tent is also dry but only as long as everything goes well
can also happen one comes back and everything is fucked
whole tent, sleeping bag, all tech, food, just everything soaked in WET MUD
