Hello, my friends, welcome back to this beloved community.

In this post, I'll share some more images of the beauty of Bireuen at night. In this blog, I've named it (Chapter 2), where I'll focus on a brief history of the city.

So, please continue following my blog to hear a brief history based on the information I've gathered.

My friends...
Bireuen Regency is one of the regencies with historical significance for the Indonesian nation, having been designated the second capital of the Republic of Indonesia on June 18, 1948, precisely during the Dutch Military Aggression of 1947-1948.

Bireuen Regency is located on the Banda Aceh-Medan route, flanked by three regencies: Bener Meriah Regency, Pidie Jaya Regency, and North Aceh Regency, making Bireuen a thriving transit area.

The above are some images I captured in the city center, where the monument, Tugu Simpang 4 Bireuen, connects the three regencies.

The regency also comprises 17 sub-districts.
Peudada Sub-district is the largest, and I have shared several images of it on my blog before. It covers 17.42% of Bireuen Regency's area.

My friends...
I personally think the monument I captured above at night is so iconic with its attractive design, in fact, it has become a symbol of Bireuen City, depicted in the media.
And what do you think of the images above of the monument at night? Do you think I've edited them too much to make them look natural, or what are your other thoughts?

Bireuen Regency is known historically as the Jempa region.
Jempa was once a small kingdom in Aceh. It is believed the Jempa Kingdom was located in Blang Seupeung Village, Jempa District, Bireuen Regency.

Furthermore, history also records that the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta, the capital of the Republic of Indonesia, contains gold, some of which originated in Aceh.
Therefore, to understand this history, a miniature version of Monas was built in Bireuen, as you can see in the images I captured above.

My friends...
The monument in the image above is located in the center of Bireuen's capital. Along the main road is a miniature park that local Bireuen residents enjoy and often stop by to enjoy the city's nighttime atmosphere.

And this is what the nighttime atmosphere looks like in the area at 12:00 AM, when the clock strikes 12:00 AM, with the crowds starting to clear out and some vendors returning to tidy up their wares.

Returning to the historical background,

The small kingdoms in Aceh, including Jempa, experienced ups and downs.
This was especially true after the Portuguese arrived in Malacca in 1511 AD, followed by the arrival of the Dutch.

Long story short, the Dutch occupied the Kuta Glee fortress in Batee Iliek, western Bireuen Regency, and divided Aceh into six regencies, one of which was North Aceh Regency.

After Indonesian independence in 1945, North Aceh was called a luhak, headed by a luhak chief until 1949.
Then, through Emergency Law No. 7 of 1956 concerning the establishment of an autonomous region at the regency level in North Sumatra Province, the second-level region of North Aceh was established.

Aceh's position within North Sumatra Province sparked dissatisfaction among the Acehnese people. Acehnese figures demanded that Aceh become an independent province, a demand that sparked the Darul Islam rebellion in 1953.

This rebellion was only quelled after the issuance of Decree No. 1 of 1957 by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Indonesia concerning the establishment of the Special Region of Aceh Province and North Aceh as a second-level region. Bireuen was included in the North Aceh Regency.

It wasn't until 1999 that Bireuen became a separate regency after separating from North Aceh as its parent regency on October 12, 1999, through Law No. 48 of 1999.

And for information and a brief history of the city of Bireuen, you can see the link I've shared below. This information I personally also took from Wikipedia.

Then it started to rain while I was enjoying the city at night.

Okay, friends, those are some pictures of the city's beauty at night, along with a brief article about the history of Bireuen.

I hope you all enjoyed and enjoyed the blog I shared this time. See you in my next blog in this beloved community.
