I see that as a mistake. A parent should hit a child for making a mistake, and the same goes for the teacher.
I agree, to an extent... As long as you hit to descpline, not cause lasting injuries and let the child know how to correct their mistake next time.
I know some parents only hit their children to diffuse their anger, and don't care about explaining what wrong they did and why.

It's true.
Sometimes you have to hit your limits to know that these limits are fakes, you're much larger than that.
