I'm not sure what this means, (I assume it's about animals?) ...but "don't hurt the families at home" sounds like great advice, no matter which families we're talking about.
There is always the same effect in everything he does. There are jobs where the effect is the same as the one who does it. If he does a good job, his family will also benefit. If he does a bad job, his family also suffers. Therefore, the work he does can affect his family members as well. I am writing to not let my family be affected by my bad actions.
