Hello to all coffee lovers. A few days ago, I was invited to the community's daily initiative, but I was out of town and couldn't participate. I really liked the idea because for all coffee lovers, combining those two moments—savoring this elixir and sharing it with a loved one, a good friend, or someone with whom we have so much in common—is almost a sacred experience.

For me, the coffee moment is sacred, and when I go shopping, one of the first shelves I visit is the coffee aisle to check if there's a new brand I don't know, or if I decide to buy one I've seen but haven't had the chance to try. Since 100g packages became available, this process of trying a new coffee that hasn't been recommended has become more appealing.

It's a daily custom, a habit, or a personal ritual to take pictures of my first coffee of the day. It's also a habit to pair it with a snack or breakfast. I think my photo album from the last 15 years has more pictures of coffee than any other category.

This week I bought a new brand that I don't remember anyone recommending, but I liked the packaging and that was enough. The fact that it says Venezuela and has a macaw printed on it was a turn-on. Its flavor is pleasant, a little stronger than usual. There's still only one coffee that fills my house with its aroma just by opening it.

I also treated myself to a new mug that I didn't buy for my birthday. This one is more my style; it has little dogs and cats on it. I still need to get one for Valentine's Day, which might end up happening at the same time as Mother's Day... remember, one mug for every special occasion.

To christen my new mug and coffee, I enjoyed some cream cheese made by a dear, multifaceted, entrepreneurial friend, and he took it to a picnic this past Sunday. I couldn't eat them there because they served them at night and I was already stuffed from snacking, but I brought some home and enjoyed it this Monday with some grilled arepas. What better way to start the week?

Hola a todos los amantes del café. Hace días me invitaron a la iniciativa diaria de la comunidad, pero estaba fuera de la zona y no pude participar… realmente me gustaba la propuesta porque para todos los amantes del café, fusionar esos dos momentos, el de saborear este elixir, y el de compartirlo con una persona querida, un buen amigo, o un ser con quien podemos tener tanto en común, es casi religioso.

Para mí, el momento del café es sagrado, y cuando salgo de compras, uno de los anaqueles que visito primero es el del café para revisar si hay alguna marca nueva que no conozco, o si me decido a llevar alguna que ya he visto pero que no he tenido la oportunidad de probar. Desde que hay empaques de 100gr, este proceso de probar un café nuevo que no ha sido recomendado, es más atractivo.

A diario es costumbre, hábito o ritual personal, tomarle fotos a mi primer café del día… también lo es, acompañarlo con una merienda o un desayuno. Creo que mi registro fotográfico de estos 15 últimos años, tiene más fotografías de café que de cualquier otra categoría.

Esta semana compré una nueva marca que no recuerdo que alguien me la haya recomendado, pero me gustó el empaque y eso ya fue suficiente. Que diga Venezuela y que lleve impresa una guacamaya en su empaque, fue un enganche. Su sabor es agradable, un poco más fuerte que los de costumbre. Aún sigue habiendo un solo café que me aromatiza la casa tan sólo con destaparlo.

También me auto-regalé una taza nueva por la que no compré en mi cumpleaños. Ésta es más afín conmigo, tiene perritos y gatitos diseñados. Aún me queda pendiente la del día del amor que quizás se me junte con la del día de las madres… recuerden, una taza por cada fecha especial.

Para estrenar taza y café, disfruté una crema de queso que prepara un amiguito emprendedor multifacético a quien quiero mucho, y las llevó este domingo a un día de campo. Yo no pude comerlas allá porque las sirvieron de noche y ya estaba full de tanto picotear, pero me traje una muestra a la casa y la disfruté este lunes con unas arepitas asadas. ¿Qué mejor manera de iniciar la semana?
