Hola a toda mi gente bella de Mundo Hispano. Hoy me integro a nuestra iniciativa del mes de octubre en honor al Día Internacional de la Lucha contra el Cáncer de Mama, titulada: ¿Cómo se organiza tu ciudad para apoyar la campaña contra el Cáncer de Mama? Es importante crear contenido que informe cómo se están preparando eventos en nuestras ciudades a lo largo de todo el mes de octubre, e incluso después de éste, con la finalidad de apoyar a los pacientes vulnerables que se encuentran en tratamiento, y fomentar la prevención en toda la población.

Yo vivo en Guanipa, pero la mayoría de los eventos en pro de la lucha contra el cáncer de mama, se están realizando en El Tigre, ya que desde hace cinco años se materializó un proyecto a favor de esta causa, ideado por un integrante del Club de Corredores, Cansaos Runners. Conjuntamente con Policlínica Del Sur, esa idea tomó cuerpo y tuvo nombre, lo llamaron Carrera Rosa 10K, e inició como carrera 10k y caminata 5k en apoyo a los pacientes con cáncer de mama de ambas ciudades.

Cada año Carrera Rosa se ha ido superando a sí misma como proyecto que fusiona la salud con el deporte, y se han ido integrando no sólo instituciones de salud, sino clubes de corredores, deportistas independientes, yoguinis, médicos, psicólogos, y la familia tigrense. Caminan padres e hijos, mascotas, las abuelitas, e incluso, los mismos pacientes y sobrevivientes de esta enfermedad. El apoyo a esta causa ha sido una muestra maravillosa de empatía colectiva.

Este año a pesar de algunos bloqueos con los permisos para desarrollar esta edición de Carrera Rosa, finalmente se pudo lograr y los eventos se multiplicaron. Los gimnasios han creado eventos deportivos, bailoterapias, sesiones de yoga, y muchas otras disciplinas con la finalidad de recoger fondos para los tratamientos de muchos pacientes.

A su vez, Carrera Rosa pudo unir a varias clínicas y organismos de salud y apoyo local del sector público y privado, para realizar jornadas de pesquisas, ecos mamarios, y charlas informativas, totalmente gratis, en varias instalaciones de la ciudad. Éstas se llevaron a cabo el día 11 de octubre.

Por otro lado se siguen haciendo conversatorios gratis en la ciudad donde se reúnen mastólogos, nutricionistas, deportistas, y psicólogos con la finalidad de aclarar dudas y brindar toda la información necesaria acerca de la prevención del cáncer de mama. Si no podemos ir todos, en sus redes sociales publican los vídeos de cada charla.

Sé que seguirán surgiendo ideas y eventos a lo largo del mes con el fin de recaudar fondos, y todos estaremos difundiendo, apoyando, y asistiendo en la medida de lo posible porque es satisfactorio ser parte de esta lucha y de esta campaña que es mundial.

El día 26 de octubre, en la ciudad de El Tigre, se realizará la tradicional carrera/caminata de todos los años, esta vez sólo como apoyo y no también como competencia por la misma situación de permisos que llegaron tarde. La salida será a las 7 am desde la Clínica Day Hospital en la Av Jesús Subero de El Tigre, será de participación libre, el recorrido es de 5k, y habrá más actividades recreativas a lo largo de la mañana.

Hello to all my beautiful people at Mundo Hispano. Today I am joining our October initiative in honor of International Breast Cancer Awareness Day, entitled: How is your city organizing to support the campaign against breast cancer? It is important to create content that informs how events are being prepared in our cities throughout the month of October, and even after that, in order to support vulnerable patients undergoing treatment and promote prevention among the entire population.

I live in Guanipa, but most of the events in support of the fight against breast cancer are taking place in El Tigre, since five years ago a project in favor of this cause was launched, conceived by a member of the Cansaos Runners Club. Together with Policlínica Del Sur, the idea took shape and was given a name: Carrera Rosa 10K. It began as a 10K race and 5K walk in support of breast cancer patients in both cities.

Every year, Carrera Rosa has surpassed itself as a project that combines health and sports, integrating not only health institutions but also running clubs, independent athletes, yogis, doctors, psychologists, and the Tigrense family. Parents and children, pets, grandmothers, and even patients and survivors of this disease walk together. Support for this cause has been a wonderful display of collective empathy.

This year, despite some obstacles with the permits to hold this edition of Carrera Rosa, it was finally achieved and the events multiplied. Gyms have created sporting events, dance therapy, yoga sessions, and many other disciplines with the aim of raising funds for the treatment of many patients.

In turn, Carrera Rosa was able to bring together several clinics and health and support organizations from the public and private sectors to conduct screening days, breast ultrasounds, and informational talks, completely free of charge, at various facilities throughout the city. These took place on October 11.

On the other hand, free talks continue to be held in the city, bringing together breast specialists, nutritionists, athletes, and psychologists with the aim of clarifying doubts and providing all the necessary information about breast cancer prevention. If we can't all attend, videos of each talk are posted on their social media accounts.

I know that ideas and events will continue to emerge throughout the month in order to raise funds, and we will all be spreading the word, supporting, and attending as much as possible because it is satisfying to be part of this fight and this global campaign.

On October 26, in the city of El Tigre, the traditional annual race/walk will take place, this time only as a support event and not as a competition due to the same situation with permits arriving late. The race will start at 7 a.m. from the Day Hospital Clinic on Jesús Subero Avenue in El Tigre. Participation is free, the course is 5k, and there will be more recreational activities throughout the morning.
