“The brunch with Curry Mee: Waking up late, No Worry with A Warm Bowl on a Slow, Peaceful Day”

This morning, we woke up feeling slow and lazy. We didn’t want to eat too early. After resting and doing a few things at home, we got hungry. It was not breakfast time anymore, but not yet lunch. So I'm thinking of eating something. My husband went down to do some grab delivery for our online orders for our customers. And he also received some deliveries to refill our stocks. I’m thinking He would be busy outside. I was craving curry mee. It is a Chinese-style noodle soup with spicy coconut soup and many tasty toppings. Then, my husband sent me a message. He asked if I wanted to eat breakfast, he is in the restaurant, he asked me to go down and join him, or if he should pack food and bring it home for me. Since I have done all my tasks at home, I say okay, I’m coming down. When I came down, he told me he had already had his breakfast before messaging me, so I ordered our Chinese friend stall a curry mee. The restaurant was not too busy yet at this time. And I could smell the food cooking. It smelled perfect. I also ordered the C kusong of hot (Malaysian milk tea). While waiting, we talked a little. Then we just sat quietly and relaxed. Soon, the food arrived.

The curry mee looked so delicious! The soup color orange and thick texture. The toppings, tofu puffs, crispy bean curd, and slices of roasted pork on top of the noodles. And the best part is the sambal (chili paste) to add more taste and spicy. The food was served warm on our table, I took a half spoon of the soup, and it was so rich and creamy, with just a little bit of spiciness. The noodles are so soft and nice. The tofu was full of flavor because it soaked up the curry soup. I mixed in some sambal, and the taste became even better. My husband was checking his phone. He gave me a small smile. I knew he enjoyed looking at me eating the food, haha. He doesn’t always talk a lot, but I could see he was happy. We didn’t say many words; I was busy enjoying the curry mee, maybe because I was already hungry hehe. I took a few pictures of the food because I wanted to remember this moment. Everything looked so colorful and yummy.

On the table, there was a funny sign that said, “Outside Beverages Will Be Charged RM1.” It made me laugh a little. It reminded me that we’re in Malaysia, where little rules like that are normal. We took our time eating. We were not in a hurry. I enjoyed my hot tea C kusong, as well. It was not sweet because no sugar, but creamy. It felt good to drink something warm. The shop started to get busier. More people were coming from the univery and the school. But we stayed a little longer, just sitting and enjoying the time. Before we left, I took one last photo of the noodles. I want to share a small but special moment. We went to a simple restaurant. It was not fancy, but it was quiet and comfortable. The food looked nice. I had a bowl of noodles and a hot drink. I was sitting with someone I love. That made me feel very happy. Sometimes, we don’t need big or special things. Just good food and someone we love is already perfect. While eating, I felt calm and peaceful. My heart felt full of joy. We walked out of the restaurant with full stomachs and happy hearts.
