“Love Found in Simple Moments: Treasures from a Walk with My Mother”

When my mother was still with us, madalas talaga kaming pumunta sa park. Simple lang siya, pero sobrang saya namin. The park became our special place para mag-bonding, huminga ng fresh air, at mag-relax habang tinitingnan ang view. Every visit felt like pahinga from the busy life. My mother liked to walk slowly around the park. Enjoy na enjoy siya tumingin sa trees, sa flowers, at lalo na sa lake. Kahit man-made lang yung lake, ang ganda pa rin at very peaceful. The water was calm, the wind was gentle, at minsan yung sky nagre-reflect pa sa surface. Minsan humihinto si Mama at ngumumingiti, parang the view was speaking to her heart. We always brought a stroller with us. Minsan nagpo-pose ako with it by the lake habang tawa siya nang tawa.

Other times, uupo siya sa stone bench to rest, tapos kukunan ko siya ng picture. Simple lang, pero sobrang saya namin sa ganitong moments.Taking pictures was our favorite. Gustong-gusto naming i-capture yung smiles, yung scenery, at yung bonding namin. Sa isang picture, si Mama naka-upo with a relaxed smile. Sa isa naman, she’s standing beside a big round structure near the lake with the glowing sky sa likod. Every photo tells a small story, at kapag tinitingnan ko ngayon, parang andoon ulit kami. What I really treasure most is not just the park itself, kundi yung closeness namin ni Mama. Walking side by side, laughing at little things, taking pictures together—lahat yun naging precious memories. The life is very simple and we have to cherish each moment especially with our love ones. We don’t know what will happen next few days months or years.
