“Chicken Soup Recipe: A Perfect Soup of Tomato Rich and Hint of Tamarind Sourness”
Hello, fellow food lovers: This my first entry in this community. since I love cooking for my family, I would like to share my recipes with this community as well. I suddenly had a craving for something warm and comforting for lunch today, so I decided to make a batch of chicken soup. The last few days I’ve been a little tired of the dry chicken dishes and I thought I would try something new, something simple, but with a lot of taste. And believe me, this soup was great. It is cheap, quick and above all, it is made with things you probably have in your kitchen. What I most like about this soup is that it is very simple to make, but when you take the first bite, it feels special. Chicken soup has always been a big part of our meals as Filipinos. We all know the authentic like adobo, but when it comes to soup, tinola is the go-to. It is a comforting dish made with tender chicken, ginger, onion, garlic, green papaya, and chili leaves. But today, I thought I would change things up a little and make something a bit different, yet completely.

So, for my version of this chicken soup, I took three ripe tomatoes, an onion, a nice chunk of ginger, and a handful of long beans. I also decided to put in a tbsp. of tamarind paste for that signature sourness we love in Filipino dishes. It’s that perfect balance of sourness that adds a whole new hint of flavor to the soup. The combination of the tomatoes and tamarind just hit the right note: rich, sour, and full of taste all at once. I started by sautéing the onions and ginger in a pot. The smell of that sauteng ginger is incredible; it instant fill the kitchen with all the aroma and makes you feel right at home. Then, I put the chicken, let it brown just a bit before adding in the tomatoes. As they cook down, the tomatoes it will come out their juices, turning the broth into this amazing, rich, and flavorful base.
Once the chicken was cooked and the tomatoes soft, I mixed in the tamarind paste. That sour kick made the dish pop. It’s something different from the usual sweet hint of the green papaya in tinola, but the tamarind gives it this surprising taste, sour twist that makes every bowl more exciting. To round it all out, I threw in some long beans, which added a nice crunch and a subtle greeny flavor. The best part about this soup? It’s amazingly simple to make. No long hours of preparation or hunting down special ingredients. Just a simple and you always have in the kitchen, and you’ve got yourself a bowl of comfort. Plus, you can easily tweak it based on what you have at home, so it’s perfect for those days when you want something home-cooked but don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen.
This chicken soup makes me remember my country since I have been staying here in Malaysia for the past 15 years and the heart of Filipino home cooking, simple but so full of flavor. It’s one of so many dishes that don’t need to be a hassle to make good food for our family. sometimes we want to eat out for something different but home food is always the best. You don’t need to be a chef to make a portion of yummy food for the table; all you need is put a love for good food and a little bit of creative. Sometimes, a little bit of changes, like changing out green papaya for tomatoes and tamarind, make a dish feel fresh again. This soup feels like a especial mix of tradition and transforming into something else, and I will add it to my daily menu for family. It’s easy to prepare which is I like due of my busyness of my daily task, and it’s perfect for any day of the week. So, if you’re looking to switch up your usual chicken soup, I highly recommend giving this recipe a try. It’s simple, it’s delicious, and it might just become your new comforting food. Enjoy!!
