"Beating the Heat Summer with Cendol: A Sweet Treat for My Friend to a Cool and Cold Bowl of Cendol."

Hello everyone, now here in Malaysia is hot in the afternoon hot of the sun, and it was shining so bright, it felt like the whole world was on fire. It was one of those super-hot summer days when all you want is something cold to cool you down. Time check, it's 4:30 p.m. I’m thinking of going to the market and I'm asking my Pinay friend to go with me since she only stays opposite my condo, she’s new here in Malaysia. I ask her to come with me to the market so next time she knows where the market is. But before we went to the supermarket on foot, I told her I would pick up my parcel nicely, so next time when she got a parcel, she would know where to pick up.

While going to the location, she asked me to take the picture for her and with me too beside the river, which has a small park and a nice and cool spot to stop from the hot sun. Then the opposite is the Cendol shop, and I want her to try this cendol, which is one of my favorite cold desserts to eat on a hot day, made with shaved ice, green jelly noodles, coconut milk, and sweet brown syrup called gula melaka. It’s creamy, sweet, icy, and just what you need when the heat feels too much. As my friend first time trying cendol she really liked it and she kept on asking what the name of the dessert was, and she even asked me to come there next time, and she wants to try the ABC dessert. She enjoyed our walk, taking pictures beside the river in the small park. With the cold and sweet treat for her.



Then after we had our cold snacks, we headed to the market, and it was not busy yet we took our time to get what we needed, and I will cook something simple dinner and invite her to have dinner with us. She had a lot of bad experiences here in Malaysia, last year, when she just came from the Philippines, poor young single mom, she came here to work as a maid, and she experienced mistreatment by the employer, work like no rest and food is once a day only noodles for 4 months no salary, and she suddenly message me and ask for help, then now she break the contract because the employer break the contract first, now she found job and save money and she able to rent room to my nice pinay friend of mine as well, she even treated by my friend like a relative don’t ask her a rent at the moment until she get a salary.








Life is so short, we have to help and treat people when they need it, but I’m the type of person I don’t ask for anything in return when I help and give to those people who need my help. I don’t have so much, but if I need to be an instrument for someone's life, why not? Now that I've seen her make so much improvement from the first time I met her, I’m so proud of her that she listens to all my advice. And the Cendol treat is just simple, but it’s a bonding with a new person in my life that I welcome her not just as a friend, but I take care like a family, as like a sister. Life is too short, I just make it so simple, I close my door to the toxic people, but I’m open for new people to come into my life as long as less toxic.
