Middle class is a curse

In our society, people are usually divided into three classes according to their financial status — upper class, middle class, and lower class. Of these, the largest number of people fall into the middle class. However, the most tension, anxiety, and conflict also accompany the lives of people in this class. That is why many say — middle class is a curse.

The biggest crisis in the life of the middle class is the gap between their dreams and reality. They want to grow up, but they cannot rise and are afraid to fall down. They do not have the luxury of the upper class, and they do not have the right to ask for help like the lower class. This dual position constantly puts them under mental pressure.

In order to prove themselves polite and civilized, they are often forced to act against their will and reluctance. They think ten times before buying new clothes, they sacrifice their own needs to send their children to a good school, and even if they need medical treatment, they think about the cost first. However, the upper class does not think about these things, the lower class laments, but the middle class keeps quiet, tolerates it, and continues to work by breaking the money they have saved.

People in this class work the hardest in the job market, but receive the least recognition. They work hard from morning till night to support their family, yet they cannot ensure their future security. They do not have savings in the bank, and they do not have the courage to invest, because the fear of some uncertainty always haunts them.

In the lives of the middle class, their desires are also trapped in the web of limitations. They want to educate their children with good education, but they are in trouble with tuition fees. They want to travel abroad, but they cannot proceed further after getting a passport. They want to buy a good mobile phone for themselves, but they have to meet the needs of their children first. In this way, their wants and needs always remain incomplete.

The most painful thing is that society does not understand the suffering of the middle class. They are neither recognized as rich like the upper class, nor do they get the opportunity for “sympathy” like the lower class. Government benefits do not reach them, because their income is just outside that range, but in reality it is never enough.

The way out of this cursed position is also very narrow. There is no capital to do business, no courage to quit their jobs, and no trust to take financial risks. As a result, the middle class lives in an uncertain stagnation — as if tied to an invisible chain.

However, it is this class of people who dream the most, endure the most suffering, and maintain the balance of society. The foundation of the entire society stands on their sacrifice, labor, and honest path. Yet they themselves remain neglected.

That is why some say that being middle class means dying a little every day, and living quietly.
