Preparing A New Garden Space

Gardening hobby will not stop the intention even though only have limited space for gardening.

IMG_20250303_162337.jpg

I know this will never be easy but this is life. We are always moving and have the possibility to move from one place to another.

My garden last year turned out to be really over. That was because I had to move to another place following my husband. But instead of being sad, I actually raised a new spirit.

While remembering various memories in my garden last year, now I am starting to try to start gardening again in a new Space in a new area. Well before I continue about my new garden, I recommend you also don't forget to watch my latest video about planting Giant Mustard Greens in the Link below:

My husband and I did not buy a new house, but we rented a house because we have no plans to live in this area forever. That is also because I have not sold my previous house and garden. So, right now I'm just enjoying the process even though I have to move around but that's not a problem at all.

IMG_20250303_162447.jpg

I deliberately looked for a rented house that has a space in front of it that doesn't have a roof. So, I can use the space for gardening, especially using containers, such as pots or polybags.

At the beginning of March I haven't done much. But to maintain the productivity of the garden I'm doing it little by little. Because I don't have any gardening equipment at all and have to start from scratch so I have to buy equipment and supplies for gardening.

IMG_20250303_162637.jpg

I use online shopping to make it easier for me. As a start I started buying some ready-to-use soil packages. The ready-to-use soil in the package already contains a mixture of loose soil, manure and also burnt rice husks. So I can immediately use it for sowing and also the next planting process later.

IMG_20250303_162651.jpg

I also bought a fairly large seedling tray. This can be used to sow large plant seeds such as beans and others. Because the plan is that later I will sow beans first then continue with chilies and onions.

IMG_20250303_162527.jpg

In addition, I also bought a small hoe and some other small tools that I think are enough for me to use in this small area. Don't forget gloves for later processing the planting media and the next seeding process.

IMG_20250302_104623.jpg

I have also bought some vegetable seeds. Such as cauliflower, cabbage, pak choy mustard greens, and others. I can't wait to continue gardening in the new area even though this gardening area is not too large. But nothing is impossible if our intentions are broad.

In this Garden journal, I did not show seeding activities or plant transplanting. Maybe I will update in the next Garden journal.

The area around here is still natural, in front of this house there are rice fields, it makes me very grateful to live in an area that is still natural. Well, I hope you keep up the spirit of gardening even if it's only on the balcony or a small area. See you at my Garden journal.

Best Regards,

After watching the video I became more interested in gardening :)) You have explained the whole process in detail, congratulations. 🙂
In the coming years, I would like to live in a house without a roof, with a large plot of land and do gardening. At the moment, such a situation is not possible. Istanbul is a pile of concrete 😅

That's quite sad you have to leave the previous garden T_T But this new one also looks nice. Not as big as the previous one but enough space for the pots too. Good luck on the new adventure. You'll be able to grow them soon enough and you won't even realize the time that has passed. :D

Oh Wow! I'm glad to hear that you are ok with it and will enjoy the new challenge.

You had built up your last garden so nicely, I think I would have hated to leave it after all the work, but it is much better not to hold on if life requires that you move around to make things work out well for your life.

I look forward to seeing what you do with your new space.

Even though your garden space is limited, you can still work wonders and grow a smaller amount for your family. Such a nice gesture to allow you to garden in a rented home. Hope to see you begin preparation on your soil for the upcoming planting season.

Thanks for sharing. I know that leaving a familiar home and going into a new venture can be a bit stressful at first. It's good you have at least a small garden to tend to occupy your time. And good luck in your new space, both inside and out.

Take care.

It's always nice to have a place to plant flowers, vegetables or even trees. If I ever may have my own house in future, for sure I would also build a garden there.

The farmer chief is back! I hope you have a very good harvest this year. Maybe you can't grow everything in a small space, but at least it will be easier to take care of.

In a small space you can also plant a beautiful garden, nature can be in every corner, no matter how small it is 😍

I loved the view of the rice field, how nice to wake up and breathe that country air hehe 😊
