No Flour Banana Strawberry Cake

A healthy lifestyle can still enjoy delicious cakes!

IMG_2688.jpeg

Since focusing on a healthier lifestyle from the previous year, I have paid more attention to the ingredients of the food I make. Especially sugar and flour, as well as oil.

IMG_2692.jpeg

I also focus more on foods that have protein content, compared to those that are only high in carbohydrates. So, when I want to eat cake, I will think about cakes that are high in protein.

Indeed, making your own cake is the best choice that is healthier. We can adjust the ingredients that suit our bodies, especially sugar and flour intake.

IMG_2673.jpeg

I will share a strawberry banana cake that is flourless, and also has little sugar. This is suitable for those of you who are trying to reduce your flour intake. In fact, you can eliminate brown sugar, and replace it with other additional sweeteners such as stevia.

IMG_2695.jpeg

IMG_2693.jpeg

Instead of flour, here I use oatmeal. Indeed, the texture of the cake will not be as moist as those using flour. But this cake is still soft and delicious, especially for those of you who don't really like sweet cakes.

THE INGREDIENTS

IMG_2675.jpeg

  • 1 cup of mashed ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup of oatmeal
  • 2 eggs
  • 200 grams of strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1

IMG_2674.jpegPrepare ripe bananas. Overripe bananas are also fine. I used local bananas.

IMG_2676.jpegMash with a fork. Here, I only used 1 cup of mashed bananas. Set aside.

STEP 2

IMG_2672.jpegAlso prepare strawberries. Soak strawberries first with salt for about 15 minutes.

IMG_2677.jpegAfter soaking strawberries, then mash with a fork. Set aside. Do not forget to left some strawberries for cake topping later.

STEP 3

IMG_2678.jpegPrepare a large bowl. Then, crack the eggs.

IMG_2679.jpeg

IMG_2680.jpeg

Then, add baking powder, brown sugar, and salt. Beat the mixture of ingredients using a fork until well blended.

STEP 4

IMG_2681.jpeg
IMG_2682.jpeg
Add mashed bananas and mashed strawberries. Mix well.

IMG_2683.jpeg
IMG_2684.jpeg

Then, add oatmeal. Mix well. Don't forget to preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

STEP 5

IMG_2685.jpeg
Prepare a baking container. Transfer the cake batter to the baking container. Don't forget to use baking paper so that the cake is easy to remove later.

Add strawberry pieces or chocochips to taste or chocolate pieces for extra topping.

STEP 6

IMG_2686.jpegBake the cake batter for 45 minutes, or test using a toothpick. If the toothpick doesn't come out clean, bake for another 10 minutes.

Take the cake out and let it cool. When the cake is hot, it will still be soft and not good to cut. So, it's best to let it cool down.

THE RESULTS

IMG_2689.jpeg

A beautiful strawberry banana cake, with a tempting texture. Despite the fact that this cake only uses oatmeal, not flour.

IMG_2690.jpeg

Would you guys like to try this cake? For me, the sweetness is just right. If you feel it's not sweet enough, you can even add honey. See you at my next food blog!

I loved this recipe, It is very nutritious, rich in proteins and vitamins, and low in carbohydrates. I would have to modify it to replace the strawberry because in my country there is no strawberry. Thanks dear @anggreklestari for sharing this excellent recipe 💐🤗

This looks absolutely delicious! I love how you've replaced flour with oatmeal to make it a healthier option without compromising on taste. The combination of banana and strawberry sounds amazing, and it's great that the sweetness can be adjusted naturally. Thanks for sharing such a thoughtful and nutritious recipe. That dessert looks delicious @anggreklestari. I love strawberries. Reducing gluten intake is good for me because of my Type 2 Diabetes. Think I'll try this cake. Nice and simple recipe made with oatmeal (my all time favorite breakfast food that's so good for me).

Thanks for sharing. Take care.

It looks like a pudding too 🤤, we can use this to our overripe banana at home. We always make a banana fritters and the amount if oil on it is just. But with this, we can adjust everything. Thanks for this ✨.

Greetings my dear friend! Thank you for sharing this delicious cake. It fit like a glove as we say here, since we are eliminating sugar and flours for my husband's health and at the same time taking care of the rest of the household. I loved it, I will put it into practice. I send you a big hug and many blessings.

It looks good! Substitutions are not easy; it's particularly complex when it comes to flours. I like using oat+banana+egg+chunks of fruit for cakes when I don't want to use flour, so I can imagine the texture and flavor of your cute dessert.

Glad to know you're taking care of yourself but still eating dessert 😁❤️

That's great! I love flourless cakes and desserts, I think they are more practical. In fact, that's why I love making biscuit cakes. Making dough with flour is a hassle xd This looks both healthy and delicious.
