June Garden Journal In My Mini Garden

Small but stunning. I found a blessing that felt so peaceful behind the beauty of the plants in my mini garden.

I started to focus on gardening in my mini garden in March. To be precise, at the end of March. I am very happy to finally be able to share some portraits of my mini garden that is already filled
with fertile plants.

In June I was busy with many things. Because the diversity of vegetables began to occur. There were vegetable seedlings that were ready to be transplanted. But there were also seedlings that had to be postponed to be transplanted. Because I don't have enough planting media yet. I lack land in the area where I live. So I have to collect more money to be able to add planting media which I will later buy at the surrounding nursery.

WHITE PAKCHOY

The first June gardening journal that I show you is my activity of transplanting white pakchoy seedlings.

These white seedlings have passed 2 weeks of age after being sown so I really have to move these white pakcoy to the planting medium.

I have prepared white polybags that already contain planting medium. The planting medium that I use is a mixture of loose soil, burnt rice husks and fermented goat manure.

I did the activity of moving the soil of these white pakcoy seedlings in the afternoon. The seedlings that I sowed turned out to grow all together. Honestly I was a bit troubled, overwhelmed. Because that means I have to prepare more polybags containing planting medium to plant the white pakcoy.

I did this transplanting before it got dark and I didn't realize I was finished with the activity when it was already dark. The results of the white pakcoy transplanting looked quite good.

Let's leave the white pakcoy and I will let you know the progress next week.

HARVESTING KANGKONG

Kangkong, a.k.a water spinach is the easiest vegetable to grow. And can be harvested before thirty days. Another fun fact is that kangkong does not need to be transplanted.

Kangkong seeds only need to be spread, sown into the planting medium. That's it, and easy to plant like spinach in general.

It's just that kangkong has hollow stems and is crispier! Many people's favorite here.

In early June, I harvested the kangkong that I planted in used gallons. The stems of the kangkong looked big and their leaves were very lush. Even though I only used organic methods.

This is the harvest of kangkong from my mini garden. I didn't finish it for cooking. Instead, I shared it with some of my neighbors here. I am very happy that this is a blessing and I can share even if only a little.

GREEN BEAN PLANTS

After I shared the excitement of harvesting water spinach in my mini garden, I will share the development of green bean plants.

The type of green bean plants that I planted is a type that does not creep so it can save space. The age of these plants is about 40 days after transplanting. I will be able to harvest soon.

This type of green bean produces very abundant fruit per tree. I am really excited because this is the first time I have planted this type of bean. I hope this can be a successful harvest 😊

BITTER MUSTARD GREENS

Welcome to another blessing in my mini garden. Look at this type of vegetable, it is truly stunning and looks beautiful.

These plants are a type of bitter mustard greens. Their sizes are different from the ones I have bought at the market. Of course, the size of the plants in my garden is smaller because it uses an organic system.

The combination of fresh green colors with bright flowers makes my mini garden look very stunning and I am so happy to have reached this stage. Doesn't it all look amazing?

Although it is called bitter mustard greens, after being cooked it turns out that it doesn't taste bitter. But I am curious why it is not bitter. Even though the bitter mustard greens that I bought at the market have a delicious bitterness, like the bitterness of papaya flowers.

I will try to find other varieties of bitter mustard greens.
