A Mosque With A Light Show
For the past few days, I've been traveling for family business. Along the way, I've naturally come across various mosques in various regions. Typically, every city and province has a large mosque that serves as a tourist landmark.

This time, I'm taking you to see a beautiful mosque. This mosque is called "At-Thohir Mosque" and is located in Depok, West Java Province.
On my way to the mosque, I visited before sunset, so my motorcycle ride wasn't too hot.

The interesting thing is that "At-Thohir Mosque" is located in an elite area. There's no need to worry, because this elite area is actually open to the public, even though there are many luxury housing complexes and apartments in the area.

Along the way to the mosque from the entrance of the elite area, my eyes were spoiled by the green scenery on both sides of the road. I think this elite area is truly well-maintained.
Since I was heading to this mosque by motorcycle, the first thing I had to do upon arrival was find the nearest parking area. This mosque has indeed become a tourist destination, so there's a dedicated parking area. Visitors riding motorcycles or cars don't need to worry about secure parking.

The road from the parking area to the mosque is also very neat and clean. This upscale area looks like a great tourist destination.

The area around the mosque is called "At Thohir Plaza." In this area, you'll find many street food vendors, as well as parks with pleasant pedestrian paths. Meanwhile, there are also skateboarding areas in several locations.

The mosque area looks shady with many trees. When I arrived, I saw visitors cycling and skateboarding.

From a distance, the "At-Thohir Mosque" looks magnificent. The entire mosque is white, adding to the elegant and luxurious impression.

Date palm trees adorn the front of the mosque, enhancing its beauty, especially the luxurious and enchanting carvings typical of mosques.

The lighting is not excessive to maintain the grandeur of the interior of the mosque. The granite material makes the mosque truly stunning.
The "At-Thohir Mosque" is suitable as a religious tourism destination. For worship, non-Muslims can also admire the beautiful architecture of this building.

The curved light vents are also an interesting detail that adds to the beauty of this mosque. Most commonly... The curved shapes of flowers or plant tendrils.

Especially for those of us who want to enjoy the architecture of the At-Thohir Mosque, we can come in the afternoon before sunset. The combination of the colors of the sky and the mosque is truly captivating and impressive to see.
Then, as the sky begins to darken, a light show appears, which I find truly stunning! A mosque is a place of worship. Therefore, no entertainment elements should be excessive. That's why the lighting arrangements are kept as simple as possible to respect the mosque's role as a place of worship.

The light show we can see in this mosque is a mixture of alternating colors. This makes the At-Thohir Mosque appear to change color.

Because the base color of the At-Thohir Mosque is white, it's easier to blend the various colors of light within the mosque.
My favorite is when the At-Thohir Mosque changes color to blue and green.

So, for those of you who are... On your trip to Depok, you can visit the architectural beauty of the At-Thohir Mosque. From a distance, at night, the At-Thohir Mosque also looks beautiful, even though it competes with the city lights of other buildings.

Wow! This mosque looks truly magnificent. Lights are generally more common during Ramadan, at least in my country. A business trip sounds great, chief. I hope everything goes well!
In some area in Indonesia, Especially in big cities, large mosques serve as centers of religious tourism. Therefore, mosques often add other aesthetic elements to enhance the beauty.
The business I'm referring to is family matters. Someone in my husband's family passed away.
Ah so sorry to hear that chef. May he or she rest in peace 🙏

Adding different colors to the mosque's basic white color is a brilliant idea!
