Museo Humboldt y Parque Nacional el Guacharo / Humboldt Museum and Guacharo National Park

¡Hola amigos!, hace días estuvimos recorriendo las instalaciones del parque nacional el Guácharo con nuestros amigos Jeanpier, María José y su hijo Alessandro. Estos amigos son bien especiales para nosotros, compartimos muchas cosas en común y una de ellas es que a pesar de que Jeanpier me lleva 11 años de diferencia y yo le llevo a su hijo 21 años, los tres hemos cursado estudios en la UEIE Alejandro de Humboldt, de Maturín Edo. Monagas, uno de los colegios privados de Maturín que con orgullo digo que es de los de mayor y mejor trayectoria en el estado.

Hello friends, a few days ago we were touring the facilities of El Guácharo National Park with our friends Jeanpier, María José and her son Alessandro. These friends are very special for us, we share many things in common and one of them is that even though Jeanpier is 11 years older than me and I am 21 years older than his son, the three of us have studied at the UEIE Alejandro de Humboldt, in Maturin, Monagas State, one of the private schools in Maturin, which I proudly say is one of the best and longest trajectory in the state.

Hago referencia de esto porque en nuestro colegio nos hablan mucho del personaje por el cual la institución lleva su nombre, el Biólogo e investigador alemán Alexander Von Humboldt, quien es reconocido en el mundo por sus grandes expediciones y aportes a lo que hoy conocemos como descubrimientos de la naturaleza y en Venezuela. Específicamente hizo muchos de sus trabajos en la cueva del Guácharo del parque nacional el Guácharo, razón por la que el museo qué se encuentra hoy en día en este lugar y la misma cueva llevan su nombre.

I make reference to this because in our school we talk a lot about the character for which the institution bears his name, the German biologist and researcher Alexander Von Humboldt, who is recognized in the world for his great expeditions and contributions to what we know today as discoveries of nature and in Venezuela. Specifically, he did much of his work in the Guácharo Cave in the Guácharo National Park, which is why the museum that is located there today and the cave itself are named after him.

No recuerdo la primera vez que fui a este lugar, pues lo he visitado desde pequeña muchas veces, pero si recuerdo la primera de tres veces que fui con mis profesores y compañeros de clases, ya que es tradición en el colegio donde estudié que cada cierto tiempo salga un grupo de excursión a este sitio como parte de alguna tarea, investigación o incluso actividad recreativa para los estudiantes.

I do not remember the first time I went to this place, as I have visited it many times since I was a child, but I do remember the first of three times I went with my teachers and classmates, as it is a tradition in the school where I studied that every so often a group goes on an excursion to this site as part of some homework, research or even recreational activity for students.

Es gracias a estas veces que iba con mis profesores y a las veces que viajaba con mi abuelo quien también fue maestro, que aprendí mucho sobre la historia de este sitio y aprendí a valorarlo y quererlo al igual que hago con cada rincón de mi país que he conocido y que sigo conociendo. Saber de donde venimos es saber quienes somos, es fomentar autoestima y es descubrir a donde quisiéramos llegar.

It is thanks to these times I went with my teachers and the times I traveled with my grandfather who was also a teacher, that I learned a lot about the history of this place and I learned to value and love it as I do with every corner of my country that I have known and that I continue to know. To know where we come from is to know who we are, it is to build self-esteem and to discover where we would like to go.

En este paseo Jeanpier y yo estábamos super entusiasmados hablándole a Alessandro (hijo de Jeanpier) sobre lo que ambos aprendimos estudiando en la institución que apenas él está conociendo, pues este es su primer año estudiando allí. Así que como buenos hijos Humboldt, este era el lugar perfecto para recordar todo lo que allí nos enseñan sobre este personaje.

On this walk Jeanpier and I were super excited talking to Alessandro (Jeanpier's son) about what we both learned studying at the institution that he is just getting to know, as this is his first year studying there. So as good Humboldt children, this was the perfect place to remember everything they teach us about this character.

La cueva en esta oportunidad no la recorrimos, pero aprovechamos de capturar las respectivas fotos de recuerdo que siempre quedan en su entrada y sus alrededores cuando uno visita este parque ☺️😁

This time we did not visit the cave, but we took the opportunity to capture the respective souvenir photos that always remain at its entrance and surroundings when you visit this park ☺️😁
