Hoy les cuento un poco de como suelen ser nuestros domingos en casa.

Today I'll tell you a bit about how our Sundays at home are usually like.
Mi esposo y yo trabajamos de lunes a sábado y muchas veces al salir de nuestros trabajos, hacemos alguna u otra actividad pendiente o aprovechamos de compartir con nuestra familia y amigos. Es por eso que desde hace un buen tiempo tomamos la decisión de tratar de mantener los domingos como un día solo para nosotros y nuestra familia.
My husband and I work from Monday to Saturday and many times when we leave our jobs, we do some other pending activity or we take the opportunity to share with our family and friends. That's why we decided a while ago to try to keep Sundays as a day just for us and our family.
Aprovechamos este día para dormir lo más que podamos, olvidarnos de trabajo o tareas y nos dedicamos a cultivar nuestra relación.
We use this day to sleep as much as possible, forget about work or chores and dedicate ourselves to cultivating our relationship.
Dependiendo de nuestra economía evaluamos si preparamos algo rico juntos o si pedimos comida por delivery, pues también aprovechamos para dedicar tiempo a disfrutar de nuestro hogar y evitar salir a comer en la calle.
Depending on our economy, we evaluate whether to prepare something tasty together or order food for delivery, as we also take the opportunity to spend time enjoying our home and avoid eating out.
En uno de tantos domingos, compramos unas plastilinas y jugamos a hacer figuras, a ver a quien le quedaban mejor. Nos reímos muchísimo en el proceso y yo descubrí que mi esposo tiene más habilidades manuales de las que imaginaba 😂
On one of many Sundays, we bought some play dough and played at making figures, to see who could make the best ones. We had a lot of laughs in the process and I discovered that my husband has more manual skills than I had imagined 😂.
También somos fanáticos de MasterChef España y cuando se estrena una nueva temporada la vemos todos los domingos, ya que es el día que podemos dedicarle tiempo. Entonces pedimos algún dulcitos o snack para hacer del momento algo todavía más especial.
We are also fans of MasterChef Spain and when a new season premieres we watch it every Sunday, as that is the day we can dedicate time to it. Then we order some sweets or snacks to make the moment even more special.
Esta es una práctica que yo aprendí de mis padres, que después de más de 30 años de matrimonio, aún son como novios y es porque siempre han puesto su relación por encima de todo y una de las cosas que hacen para lograr eso es siempre dejar tiempo para ellos dos solos.
This is a practice I learned from my parents, who after more than 30 years of marriage, are still like sweethearts and it is because they have always put their relationship above all else and one of the things they do to achieve that is to always leave time for just the two of them.
Nosotros escogimos los domingos porque como les comenté con anterioridad, es el día que más tiempo tenemos para hacerlo, pero esto no quiere decir que alguno que otro domingo no salgamos a compartir con otras personas. Sencillamente tratamos de defender siempre el tiempo que podamos tener para ser solo nosotros y cultivar esa complicidad que es la que hace de nuestra relación lo más mágico.
We choose Sundays because, as I mentioned before, it is the day we have the most time to do it, but this does not mean that every other Sunday we do not go out to share with other people. We simply try to always defend the time we can have to be just us and cultivate that complicity that makes our relationship the most magical.
Que tu compañero o compañera de vida sea además tu mejor amig@ es lo mejor que te puede pasar. La vida se vuelve mucho más fácil y la convivencia es con todos los matices que la representan, muchísimo más fácil y divertida de llevar. Pero para que esto se dé de la mejor manera, se necesita que ambas partes estén dispuestas a siempre dar lo mejor de cada uno y que cuando exista un problema (que siempre habrá), ambos estén dispuestos a solucionarlo en conjunto.
The fact that your life partner is also your best friend is the best thing that can happen to you. Life becomes much easier and living together, with all the nuances that make it so much easier and more fun. But for this to happen in the best way, both parties need to be willing to always give the best of each other and when there is a problem (which there will always be), both are willing to solve it together.
