Hola amigos, hoy les quiero contar sobre mi primer Domingo de Ramos en la catedral de Maturín.

Dentro del descanso que nos ofrecen los días sin trabajo de la Semana Santa, no podemos olvidar la razón por las que existe esta semana, que es para recordar lo que Jesús, hijo de Dios, hizo por nosotros. Como entregó su vida para limpiarnos del pecado y nos demostró su amor, muriendo y resucitando por nosotros.

Hello friends, today I want to tell you about my first Palm Sunday in the cathedral of Maturin.
Within the rest that the days without work of Holy Week offer us, we cannot forget the reason why this week exists, which is to remember what Jesus, son of God, did for us. How he gave his life to cleanse us from sin and showed us his love, dying and rising for us.

Como en ocasiones anteriores les he comentado, no me considero la persona más religiosa, pero me gusta mucho alimentar mi fe. Soy católica y conozco mi religión, por eso cada vez que se me presenta la oportunidad, trato de asistir a la casa de Dios como agradecimiento por todas las bendiciones que pone en mi vida y la de mi familia.

As I have told you on previous occasions, I do not consider myself the most religious person, but I like to nurture my faith. I am Catholic and I know my religion, so every time I have the opportunity, I try to go to God's house to thank Him for all the blessings He puts in my life and that of my family.

En mi ciudad está la segunda catedral más alta de Latinoamérica, ella es imponente, hermosa y sublime, símbolo de orgullo para todos los maturinenses y sobre todo para los que somos católicos. Pero como a pesar de ser católica no soy practicante al 100%, cuando asisto a misa suelo hacerlo en la parroquia cercana a mi hogar, no acostumbro a ir a la catedral para escuchar la misa, ya que queda algo distante de la zona donde vivo.

In my city is the second highest cathedral in Latin America, she is imposing, beautiful and sublime, a symbol of pride for all maturinenses and especially for those of us who are Catholics. But despite being Catholic I am not 100% practicing, when I attend mass I usually do it in the parish near my home, I do not usually go to the cathedral to hear the mass, as it is somewhat distant from the area where I live.

Para este pasado Domingo de Ramos, mi esposo y yo despertamos temprano y decidimos ir a misa. No solemos ir todos los domingos como quisiéramos, pero sabemos que Dios conoce nuestros corazones y sabe que cuando asistimos lo hacemos de propia voluntad y con mucho amor. Así que ese día todo estaba dado para que pudiéramos asistir a nuestra respectiva misa en nuestra parroquia, pero cuando llegamos para estar en la misa que normalmente se realiza a las 10 am, nos dimos cuenta de que habían cambiado por ese día la programación y solo se realizó una misa a la cual llegamos casi al terminar. Con ganas de cumplir con Dios como ya habíamos pautado para esa mañana, nuestra otra opción era llegar hasta la catedral de Maturín donde sabíamos que si iban a hacer varias misas ese día y afortunadamente allí si pudimos llegar a tiempo.

For this past Palm Sunday, my husband and I woke up early and decided to go to mass. We don't usually go every Sunday as much as we would like to, but we know that God knows our hearts and knows that when we attend we do it of our own free will and with a lot of love. So that day everything was set for us to attend our respective mass in our parish, but when we arrived to attend the mass that normally takes place at 10 am, we realized that the schedule had been changed for that day and there was only one mass, which we arrived almost at the end. Wanting to comply with God as we had already scheduled for that morning, our other option was to go to the cathedral of Maturin where we knew that there were going to be several masses that day and fortunately we were able to get there on time.

Como nosotros, a pesar de estar conscientes que era domingo de ramos, no íbamos con intención de bendecir ningún ramo porque solo queríamos asistir a escuchar la palabra y agradecerle a Dios. No llevábamos ramitas con nosotros pero mayor fue mi emoción que al llegar habían personas repartiendo ramitos a todo el que se unía a la celebración, así que una vez más Dios hizo su voluntad y yo terminé con mis ramitas bendecidas y contemplando una misa más que hermosa ese día.

Like us, even though we were aware that it was Palm Sunday, we did not go with the intention of blessing any branches because we just wanted to attend to listen to the word and thank God. We didn't have any branches with us but I was even more excited when we arrived and there were people handing out branches to everyone who joined the celebration, so once again God did his will and I ended up with my blessed branches and contemplating a more than beautiful mass that day.

Esta es la primera vez que acudo un Domingo de Ramos a la catedral de Maturín y la verdad es que agradezco a Dios como nos hizo llegar ese día hasta allá porque si las misas de Semana Santa son bonitas, esta en este lugar fue increíblemente energizante, no solo el lugar sino la devoción de sus feligreses, la solemnidad del momento y todo el amor con el que el padre presidió la eucaristía, hizo de esa misa para mí una experiencia inolvidable y que espero el próximo año volver a repetir.

This is the first time I go to the cathedral of Maturin on Palm Sunday and the truth is that I thank God for the way he made us get there that day because if the Holy Week masses are beautiful, this one in this place was incredibly energizing, not only the place but the devotion of the parishioners, the solemnity of the moment and all the love with which the father presided the Eucharist, made that mass for me an unforgettable experience and I hope next year to repeat it.
